The concept and packaging were brilliant. But, for me, the performances themselves weren't remarkable.

_Boomy_ This release will probably be along the lines of something miserable.

And I will buy it anyway.
8th May 2007 08:06 PM
Soldatti The title is ridiculous.

Bloozehound If this DVD info is accurate, I recall watching some of the Rio show here on the AOL broadcast and not being too impressed, seemed like just your standard "going through the motions" warhorses set, and I can't figure out what they're planning to do with that that 3rd disc w/shanghai, buenos aries ect...judging by the set lists it looks like it's also going to be pretty vanilla and/or repetitive, no matter how they slice it. The smart moneys on the Austin concert, the band was defintely in top form with only a few real flubs but they were defintely ON that night, pretty decent set list with a couple of surprises thrown in, it should easily be the best disc of the set, but no matter what they do it'll be hard to top 4 Flicks, primarily the Olympia Theatre Show for it's sheer setlist versitility

marko It looks boring,if you ask me!I´ll buy it anyways.
Rio set was awful, thru their motions set, this gig died
after 3-4 first songs.Theres no groove,no swing.
And believe me,it will be re-remastered many times over.
Now,5.1 or 6.1 dolby digital is an ex sound "system",but not for music,by this way, they can add, like 10guitars in
there,without us knowing it.Because in the stadiums,arenas
or theatres.music come from front of you.Theres no 5.1 or 6.1 dolby digital sound.
Music videos shoul only be in normal stereo sounds, with dolby digital, they can fool us as much as they want.
Dolby digital is for MOVIES.

lotsajizz I was at Rio...it rocked...
15th May 2007 07:47 AM
CraigP I can't wait till this damn thing is released in the states. Thanks for the info.

Oh, and about the Dolby Digital encoded sound- overdubbing is just as obvious out of 2 spaekers as with 6.

I can't wait!

Still amazes me to read posts even from people who generally rate the last tour highly who think this was a mediocre show. I thought they were brilliant that night.

The problem with the Four Flicks DVD is the speed at which camera angles change. On Olympia, it's to the point where it's unwatchable, even as great as much of playing is (minus Heartbreaker, which is an embarrassment).

i totally agree with you here.....it is way to fast.

the others tho i think are killers.
15th May 2007 05:38 PM
Jakeb206 Did anyone notice that the Austin DVD is only 93 minutes? That whole show was over 2 hours in reality? Wonder what song sare going to be cut out??? She's So Cold; BWISK; Sway; ATPTB?

June 12th seems to be the release date, going by what I was told. Dont know if thats correct, though.

the following info comes from IORR news :

The new Stones DVD "The Biggest Bang" will be out next month. The DVD will include more than seven hours of Stones live and interviews, six songs released for the first time on DVD, six other songs that have never been released in any format, duets with Bonnie Raitt, Eddie Vedder and Dave Matthews, a tour documentary plus more.

(edit - whoops..Boomy has posted this info already. Sorry)

corgi37 There is footage from Austin on the Euro tour announcement. It seemed (to me) to have the biggest pyro display too - not a coincidence i think. Check out some clips on youtube & you will see what i mean.

Why do they cut shows? It fucking pisses me off!

A tour doco would be ok, but whats the bet Oz is left off. It would have been awesome if the Melbourne show was included. Check out the set list of that baby. I think Daethgod is still babbling about it in his sleep!
16th May 2007 07:46 AM
Bob Tamp No mention of this fucker on the Best Buy web site yet!
16th May 2007 09:00 AM
Bruno The rehearsals really attracts me. I dig those bits of Midnight Rambler and Worried About You in FF documentary disc. Imagine the FULL footage of them rehearsing stuff like She´s So Cold, She Was Hot or a few of those covers they played this tour. I love to watch a band working in studio, fuckin up, correcting and smiling at each other

Have you ever seen Queen working on "One Vision"? It is part of the Queen Greatest Hits II DVD. The rehearsal itself is a lesson to any rock n roll band.
