I don't get the U2 part - are they playing without support acts? - but the second part of your post took the words right out of my mouth!!!

Actually in my case it would be "more time in the parking lot smoking dope" but the thought is the same. Who the hell picks these support acts?

Pearl Jam almost seems like a misprint in the middle of that list of mediocrity. Are they still good?

gimmekeef Tragically Hip are actually very good.Pearl Jam I'd see again....If that little asshole Mayer plays Atlanta..I'm selling my tickets!

Yeah, actually Tragically Hip is a good opener - if you're going to Moncton! I will probably not make it that far north.

I guess my initial reaction - a wave of revulsion and nausea, following which my skin turned to chicken - had more to do with reading the words "Maroon 5". That is inexcusably clueless, and right up there with choosing Journey to open the '81 tour.

Mel Belli I think John Mayer is playing blues-heavy sets with his new "trio"... Might not be bad. He's a lightweight songwriter but a great player...

Factory Girl Thanks, FPM, I will.

Honky Tonk Man Black Eyed Peas?

Doesn't their audience normally consist of 12 year olds?

Here is a list of the following bands I'd like to see open for the Stones. Judging by the fact that we gor the likes of The Strokes, The Hives and The White Stripes on the last tour, I think we'll get a few of them.

The Kings Of Leon
The Killers
The Bravery
Razorlight
Snow Patrol
Kasabian
Bloc Party
The Tears

keith_tif On last tour, The Stereophonics opened act in France, they were good.
Surely better than Bon jovi in 1995: rubish!

May 17th, 2005 04:23 PM
gimmekeef Where the hell is George Thorogood when we need him!...Joss Stone in Atlanta?....probaly give her a listen or an ogle!
May 17th, 2005 04:25 PM
Phog That, my friends, is an awful list of openers. I never cared for Pearl Jam, but they are by far the best of that lot. Jesus wept.
May 17th, 2005 04:28 PM
Saint Sway Pearl Jam was a smart play

but I can't imagine that anyone that can afford a $450 Stones ticket would have any interest in John Mayer or Maroon 5

the Stones are so fucking out of touch with their fans!!!!!
