Ten Thousand Motels COMETS HEAD BACK TO BRITAIN

The existing members of BILL HALEY's COMETS are planning another British invasion to mark the 50th anniversary of the birth of rock 'n' roll in the UK.

The group's single ROCK AROUND THE CLOCK hit number one in November 1955 and spent five weeks at the top of the UK pop charts. The record is widely regarded as kickstarting rock 'n' roll.

Now, British music historian MARTIN LEWIS has tracked the existing Comets down in America and plans to take them back to Britain this autumn (05).

Lewis says, "These guys are still playing - they're in their 70s but they're still playing."
