full moon How do I find out info about these? Isn't there a site run by a woman named Rosie that deals with Mickboy remasters? Thanks...
May 12th, 2005 09:03 PM
mac_daddy i have wondered the same thing for years...
May 13th, 2005 06:00 AM
MRD8 Padre who posts on the board does the artwork for Mickboys remasters so he could probably tell you better what happened to him...he got into some type of trouble from the Stones organization when it was discovered that Rosalie was selling his remasters instead of just trading them...he didn't sell them...he bartered them. I have all of them if you are interested in doing a B&P for some of them.

Lazy Bones Bob,
Have any been done recently? Better yet, what was the last one(s) done?

I think "Tastes Sooo Good!" was the last one I received...
May 13th, 2005 01:01 PM
padre Yep, Mickboy is laying low for now. I hope he'll be back, I really dig the work he's done. I cannot listen to original Black and Blue or IORR anymore after Mickboy's remasters.
I got 'em all too for trading if someone wants.

MRD8 Lazy,
The last two he did last year were Rolling Stones #2 and Out Of Our Heads...and he did an AMAZING job with both!

Thanks, Bob!

If anyone has and is willing to trade for these, please drop me a PM and I'd be more than happy to trade.

tia!

MRD8 Here's a list of the studeo remnasters Mickboy has done so far:
Rolling Stones #2/Out Of Our Heads
Aftermath
Satanic Majesties Request
Let It Bleed
Sticky Fingers
Exiles
Goats Head Soup
IORR
Black & Blue
Jaggers 1993 Blues Sessions w/Red Devils
He's also done a bunch of live upgrades but I only have a couple of those.

M.O.W.A.T. His Turner Field remaster is amazing considering the lousy quality of the original recording. Two thumbs up for this one!
May 14th, 2005 10:10 PM
CraigP did they do Exile on SADC?
May 15th, 2005 02:24 AM
tomk The one he did for EOMS is bollocks.
However, the one he did for Goat's Head Soup is superb.
Anoyone that has doubts about that record should check it out.

Andy L Here's a list of Mickboy's live remasters (with links to artwork):

http://www.angelfire.com/art2/walkin_dude/

He also did MSG 27/11/1969, LA 18/1/1973, a 1972 tour compilation (Very Ancient, Thank You Kindly) and a couple of studio albums by other artists (Led Zep IV, Derek and the Dominoes' Layla).
May 15th, 2005 05:11 AM
mac_daddy thanks for the link, andy!

i have zep iv - i did not know he did the layla album, too...

beer I just thought the Exile one was bad. I listened to it a milion times before i came to that conclusion though. It seemed like certain sounds were buried while others were over-loud, all in the wrong spots. I dunno if that makes sense or not. But to this day, My absolute favorite version of EXILE is the one i taped off the FM radio onto a cassette tape. I aint kidding, it's excellent.

Mickboys Goats Head Soup is great though! same with Rags 2 Excess.

Stonesthrow For those of you who have the Mickboy remasters of #2 and Out Of Our Heads, how do they compare to the ABKCO 2002 SACDs? I have all of the Mickboy studio albums except for #2 and OOOH. Any chance of a B & P? Also, is there downloadable artwork for them?

The original cd of Exile was such poor quality that both the Mickboy and Virgin remasters were distinct improvements.
