Topic: ROLLING STONE 1,000 Cover Issue in 3D Return to archive
10th May 2006 08:49 PM
time is on my side While not a particular big fan of Rolling Stone (the magazine), just checked out their 1,000 cover and I was quite impressed.

It's a take off of and cross between the Sgt Peppers Lonely Heart Club & Their Satanic Majesties Request covers. It's in 3D. Dylan is a little to the left & is flanked by Mick and Keith (no Charlie???).

It seems the STONES have been on the cover 23 TIMES and Dylan an unlucky 13 while the Beatles together or individually have been on their cover more than 30 times.

Altamont I saw it today, the 3D effect is alot like Satanic
Majesties, but it appears to have much more depth.

Steel Wheels Is Dr. Hunter S. Thompson on that cover? What Stones articles are inside?

Their 1000th issue had better come with a heavy dose of the world's greatest rock and roll band, dontcha think?

Hunter is the devil with the guitar right below the 2 L's in "Rolling". There are definetly some Stones articles in it. The 3D thing is pretty cool.

Saint Sway pretty fitting and funny that with a stage filled with so many huge superstars, that the Art Director of RS slyly put Bono creeping out in front of them all and being the ham. In a cover filled with attention whores he's still "attention whore numero uno"
