Topic: OT: New McCartney song makes SOL sound like a classic Return to archive
24th April 2007 05:17 PM
Poison Dart Has anybody heard that piece of shit "Ever Present Past" that McCartney just put out?

It sounds like early 80's McCartney. It could have come off of McCartney II or Pipes of Peace. It is absolutely horrendous. It really makes "Streets of Love" sound like a classic in comparison.

Unlike many around here I am not a Beatles/McCartney (I actually really liked Macca's last record a lot) basher, but this song straight up sucks.

Surprisingly, I heard it on the radio twice (maybe that move to Starbucks will pay off)today.

Poor Macca. He's going through a very painful divorce right now. Probably can't think straight with all that money involved.

MrPleasant It sounds a bit weird, but the hooks are there, as usual.

Poison Dart Luckily "Ever Present Past" is not the first single.

The actual first single is a song called "Dance Tonight" and it is light years better than "Ever Present Past"

McCartney shot a video starring Natalie Portman. A small clip of it was posted on youtube.com

gotdablouse Sez who ?...Not sure what you're trying to achieve with that type of thread and ridiculous statements, but "Ever Present Past" is certainly an interesting and catchy song, that does lack a hummable chorus though, big deal

Anyway, anyone serious about discussing this song should go here http://www.xsorbit4.com/users2/abbeyrd/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&num=1177113219 where it can be downloaded as well.
