GENESIS PUBLICATIONS 30TH ANNIVERSARY EXHIBITION IN LONDON

Genisis have announced a large exhibition of photos of rock icons in the heart of London. Thirty Flight Rock (TFR) will open on 13th May and continue until 2nd June at Saab's Plattform space at 77 Piccadilly, London W1 almost opposite The Ritz.

Photos from 30 years of Genesis Publications books will be shown, featuring The Beatles, Stones, Queen, The Who, Dylan, Lennon, Bowie, Marley and Hendrix. There will also be photos from our modern history of Liverpool FC, This Is Anfield.

Photographers represented include Gered Mankowitz, Bob Gruen, Mick Rock, Colin Jones, Dominique Tarlé, David Steen, Ross Halfin and sports photographer, Steve Hale.

There will be over 40 photos plus prints from paintings by Ronnie Wood and Peter Blake. Also showing for the first time will be the trailer for Genesis Productions first DVD feature film - the documentary of the life of George Martin.

In addition Genesis Productions producer, Nick Roylance, has created a very beautiful commercial for TFR to be screened over a two week period. This will air on music television station, VH1 Classic, who are one of our sponsors.

The title sponsor is Saab Great Britain, also The Ritz Hotel have given their support.

Genesis founder, Brian Roylance, said: "We are very happy and proud to be doing the show with Saab, VH1 Classic and The Ritz. We want to celebrate the sheer excitement and fascination of the groups and stars we have featured. We wanted to showcase the skill of our photographers and the artisans in Milan, who print our books. And, lastly, we wanted to celebrate our 30th anniversary."

Saab are running a story about the exhibition on www.saab.co.uk - please see their press release section on the home page.

VH1 Classic is at www.vh1.com and The Ritz is at www.theritzlondon.com

TFR moves to Nottingham from 18-22 June at Braemore's Park Rock Apartments, Castle Boulevard, Nottingham.

Hannalee Just had an email from Genesis Publications:

30 Flight Rock: As many of you will be aware, Genesis Publications is 30 years old this year. To celebrate Saab Gallery in London is holding an exhibition featuring books from our past and present, as well as some of the best photographs we’ve published in these past three decades. These include images by Mick Rock, Kate Simon, Bob Gruen, Ross Halfin, Colin Jones, Gered Mankowitz, Dominique Tarlé and many more, and feature some of the greatest artists and musicians of the last century; from The Beatles through The Stones to Bob Marley.
As a special thank you, we would like to invite you to the press launch night on Thursday 13th May. Not only will you get to meet all the Genesis staff (saving, perhaps, Max the dog), but Mick Rock and Astrid Kirchherr will be present to sign copies of Moonage Daydream, Psychedelic Renegades, Killer Queen and When We Was Fab.

Anybody else had one?
