Angiegirl " March 2006 - Japan/Australasia
No rumoured cities as yet"

I think Tokyo. Just a hunch though.

"The Stones are also rumoured to possibly appear at the Opening Ceremony of the World Cup at the Olympiastadion in Berlin on 9th June."

Yeah, don't see that happening personally, but we'll see. They were supposed to play Glastonbury last tour weren't they?

I hope so, since right now we are talking about the 2 absolute worst venues in Southern California. My wallet says thats good news but if its true, it still feels kinda bad.

gimmekeef For purposes of reducing customs and border crossings if they do Ottawa I would think Toronto would be just before or after....likely Air Canada Centre

Irresistible-Lady Don't they come to Holland?
May 3rd, 2005 03:40 PM
Angiegirl Doh. It's about dates and cities we have actually heard rumours about for the upcoming tour...

of course they will

You hardly think a European tour is going to be just 5 cities?

This is just a list of shows rumoured so far. As Europe is over a year away, obviously there arent too many European shows on that list

yeah, obviously if they play Japan, they'll play Tokyo. Similarly with Sydney, melbourne etc for any Aussie shows. I just havent read any stories about such shows yet, so thats why I didnt post them

Glastonbury was the same rumour as every year the Stones play Europe. However, it'll never happen IMO. Besides, I think I read somewhere that there's no festival next year anyway (apparently they leave the site to recover every 5 years or so)

Well, waiting for the PRESS CONFERENCE.

I would have thought so, too. Especially if they're playing US shows in January. If they're going to be outside the US before the end of the month, it would only allow time for no more than about 6-8 US shows, and I'm sure it'll be more than that!

Are you planning on coming over here for any shows?

I think, especially if it's the Last Tour, that the C10 should reconvene. Yes, dammit, all of us, even the ones we don't like anymore.

Of course that would have sort of an End Times vibe to it!

GimmeExile Any rumor on shows in North Carolina?
May 3rd, 2005 05:46 PM
Some Guy Atlanta??
May 3rd, 2005 06:27 PM
charlotte Charlotte, NC has a new arena opening in the fall, in fact U2 is the first concert in the place 12-12-05 (in which I have tickets), I know the owners(the NBA Bobcats-Bob Johnson)are trying...but if Scott Stadium (VA) comes threw a NC visit may be out...Atlanta is a shoe-in and at least two Florida visits

Theres one there for Virginia which might be an alternative.

However, Ive just posted based on rumours and gossip from shidoobee, IORR and this board.

Most of that originates from people picking up local news stories about a possible Stones show in their area from their local radio, TV or newspapers. So, basically, for anyone enquiring about shows in their areas - look around and see whats cooking in your local media and tell us!

Theres quite a few gaps there which they'll obviously play, such as Toronto, Florida, Atlanta, other California dates and most of the south.

I dont know about most of the south since it seems the last few tours they havent played much of the south at all.

see ya at the U2 show, man!!!! i've got floor seats, and will be flying home to charlotte for it!

but i keep telling my NC friends: "don't say U2 will open that building quite yet, cause the Stones are a coming!"
May 3rd, 2005 08:25 PM
charlotte Poplar, I keep hoping also...but a big deal was made in the press about the U2 being the first and this came from the Bobcats who control the arena...but as I stated above I do know they are trying...

my U2 seats are just off the floor, right of the stage(Adam's side)

well there was nothing there for New Orleans and either Memphis or Nashville. I would be surprised if there isnt a New Orleans show and one in Tennessee too.

A couple more mid west shows would surely also be likely (Denver?) and I'd be surprised if the Twin Cities and/or Wisconsin get bypassed.

I forgot to add Phoenix. Remember the story a while back that had the tour actually opening in Tempe, Arizona (someone even found a seating chart - was that genuine?). I havent seen an Arizona show mentioned since but I would think surely they may get a show.
May 3rd, 2005 08:45 PM
corgi37 The theory had always been that if they play Japan, they'd come to Oz. Of course it never happened in 89/90.

Some how i dont see them doing an Asian tour like Licks. Probably just no money in it. Unless they finally get to do China.

An Oz tour would/could be:

Coming down the east coast from Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne (at soon to be finished MCG perhaps? Indicating a stadium tour?) then off to Perth where they can go to Europe.

But, i am very pessimistic. Fuel prices will probably kill a tour. Or, ticket prices will be so huge, that promoters will not take a chance. Unless they say "Yep, this is it, last tour".
May 3rd, 2005 08:50 PM
Rolling1 St Louis date is rumoured to be in mid-december at savvis. Hope we get a club date also. Can still remember the keil opera house show in 1978, one of the few club shows on that tour. Tickets were 10.00. Boy those were the days. Couple small theaters here.

http://www.robertsorpheum.com or
http://www.fabulousfox.com

also is anyone else find it interesting that stones rumoured dates are within a few days of already scheduled U2 dates. U2 plays stl 12/14.
