Next summer is shaping up to be the season of the rich hippie and they do not come much richer, or hipper, than Jade Jezebel Jagger.

The model turned designer and luxury property developer, and daughter of the Rolling Stones frontman, Mick Jagger, and Bianca Jagger, arrived in Sydney yesterday to be the face of Charlie Brown's spring collection.

This reporter had a Notting Hill moment when it called for an interview yesterday - and had to identify itself with a special code name.

Brown is clearly hoping that some of the Jagger celebrity buzz rubs off. In a deal industry sources estimate at $250,000, she will be photographed for Brown's spring/summer advertising campaign and point of sale material in Myer.

On Wednesday she will appear at Brown's Fashion Week show, "but I'm not going to be in the show", she said.

"I'm just going to come out and perhaps give her some flowers and congratulate her. I'm sure I'll be wearing the clothes. But I'm not on the catwalk. I don't think I'm a model any more."

Jagger, 33, is Charlie Brown's latest great get. Although some rag-traders still harbour ill will over the collapse of Discovery Group, the firm of Brown and her husband, Danny Avidan, in 2001, big names just cannot say "no" to them. They include Cathy Freeman, Lady (Sonia) McMahon, Jodie Kidd and Sophie Dahl, and Jagger's former stepmother Jerry Hall.

"I wanted Jade's stamp on this collection," Brown said.

"She's got that 'cool' factor".

With her creative director's gig at the British royal jeweller Garrard, Jagger cannot have needed the money. It seems more than coincidental that the trip coincides with the launch of her joint venture with French designer Philippe Starck to develop a series of Jagger-branded luxury properties within the Yoo portfolio, several of them in Australia.

Jagger flew in with her partner, Dan Williams, leaving her two daughters and his son at home - a 500-year-old farmhouse on the Spanish party island of Ibiza. With her glamorous lifestyle and jetset friends like Elle Macpherson, Kate Moss and Sadie Frost, Jagger has garnered a reputation as a wild party girl and the original boho "it" girl - she designed her own bohemian range of jewellery and accessories before anyone had heard of Sienna Miller.

"With all the high-end jewellery it's evolved into more of a 'glamour girl' [image]," she said. "I'm not that much of a party girl, but … when you're seen at parties, then that's the perception. I'm good at throwing a party but I'm also good at getting up early and taking my kids to school."
