Gazza,I would have thought NYC too...But to announce the Fenway gig in NYC might be politically weird...But the press center is NYC for sure...so....Hopefully we'll know early next week... |

I heard a definite rumor that they're going to announce the tour at the Qwest Arena in Omaha!
Why?
Because the Qwest Arena is Nebraska's premier entertainment and sports venue. The arena will play host to an array of events including Rolling Stones concerts, "sporting" events, and dog & pony shows. The arena is home to the University of Nebraska at Omaha's Joeys hockey team and the Creighton University LBJs Men's basketball team.
Michael Cohl is no dummy! He knows that the Qwest Center is the cornerstone of Omaha's extensive downtown riverfront revitalization. This revitalization brings new facilities such as the Gallup World Headquarters, the 40-story First National Bank Tower, a new headquarters building for the Union Pacific Railroad, as well as riverfront parks, pedestrian areas, and many new public restrooms to make meeting new friends easy and hassle-free. |

This isn't my idea, someone on some Stones board came up with it a while ago.
I love the idea of the four Stones riding in somewhere on horseback.
We've all seen the photos of Keith on a horse from the 60's and even the 80's. And Mick could be on a fine Arab Charger. And Charlie for God's sake, he could ride his own.
It would get big media play to boot. Horses in Times Square....or Fenway for that matter. Giddy-up. |

Happy Motherfucker!! |
I still think that they will announce it in Boston since this is the first gig. I would love for them to do a live gig at a small bar to announce the tour like in 75' with the flatbed truck. Wouldn't it be great if they played that little bar that is close to the site and Keith has rumored to have hung out resently? Just announce the press conference an hour befor and when everyone shows up, The Stones break out their excepted first single and then wrap it up with one or two more goodies, then the press conference.
This would be an excellnt choice, but who knows at this point. The expected date is still rumored to be next Wednesday the 3rd, if not then the 13th. I would expect that a large portion of the dates will be announced the same day with first day of ticket sales starting within a couple of weeks. Get ready boys and girls, rock'n roll is on the road again very soon! |

NO! NO! NO! You guys have it ALL SCREWED UP as usual.
The Press Conference is going to be under the Arch in St Louis
Missouri on the banks of the beautiful Mississippi! This of course
is much prettier than NYC, right? It will be near the fantastic
Laclede's Landing where there is fine night life and lots of
clubs and parties for everyone! No dog and pony shows, or
boat shows, or the Blue Angels flying overhead, no sirree, just
a Stones throw from the best night life we have here. And right
by are the most expensive hotels and the best restaurants this
side of the Mississippi! And since it is a really special occasion
the possibility of a Stones blimp flying under the Arch would be
a spectacular addition! And when they are finished with the
press conference they could go onto our best casinos here on
either side of the river. Yes sirree BillyBob that would be some
press conference, yes indeedy. |
