Egon!! You've lost me. What did you mean? What about the boys? I dont like boys. Though, we do have a thriving gay scene here. Sydney's is much more "fag" gay, where as our gays are more macho.
St.Kilda, Elsternwick and Elwood are the gay hot spots. There are also numerous toilet blocks along the esplanade that are popular. The Peanut Farm (next to Luna Park, and i used to play footy there) in St.Kilda is a hot gay pick-up and root me spot, and a good place to get eccies.
But, if its the Aussie babes ya want, Chapel St is the way to go. Susan Sarandon is here filming a flick and has not kept away from the place. She's pretty foxy for an old chook.
Nicholas Cage and his girl have been pretty low-key, but he seems to dig hanging around the Casino.
So, Egon, fill me in with what you meant. Must have lost something in translation. |

Picture of me;
Yes there!
This is what we like to do in the south;
Protest and strike. preferably just before the weekend...
If you are unhappy about something, just tell us
and we'll strike on your behalf.
And we have concerts;
And here is where it all happens:

Hey Corgi, Melbourne rocks! I'm a Perth boy and i love Perth thru and thru, but i gotta say Melbourne is the most beautiful capital city in Australia. I lived there for a year in 97 in Mt Waverley. Melbourne chicks are hot and classy. The best pubs i've ever been to are in Melbourne - i used to drink Y&Js heaps until they turned it into a yuppy bar, although the public bar downstairs did need a facelift. Ever drink at the Royal Hotel in Richmond? I went there a couple of times after footy games at the G. Man i loved those shows they put on there.
As far as Perth goes - I love this place, great beaches, beautiful tanned women, friendly easy going people. We might not be exciting as Melbourne & Sydney but hey it could be worse - it could be Canberra. |

Portland, Oregon: "The City That Works"
Clean, green, in view of snow-capped peaks and an hour from the beach. A good place to raise kids, as cities go. Maybe not an enormous music scene, but home to Sleater-Kinney and Everclear (and the Kingsmen of "Louie, Louie" fame), and Bo Diddley has chosen to perform here on his birthday for the last two years.
If I knew how to attach some phtos, I would. |

Homerrichards! Y&J's is still going, but some drunken moron smashed "chloe" a few months ago. She's all repaired now. Personally, i avoid the city, except for footy. Too many freaking beggars and junkies now. And, if Collingwood plays, the trains are full of pissed, agro, neanderthals. Man, i know the Royal very well. I have actually missed more than 1 game of footy by simply staying there and enjoying the strippers. I barrack for the Saints, and we werent doing too well at the time. And, people, about 50 feet from the Royal Hotel, is the Cricketers Arms - That is where Men at Work started!
I know Mt. Waverley like the back of my hand. I live in Oakleigh. I've been to W.A. twice, and i gotta tell ya, i absolutely loved it. Small city, but clean. The girls were gorgeous. And, the people pretty nice. Even the cops that arrested me.
EGon!!! Sorry mate, i just didnt understand what you meant. If you are here in Nov, aint no way the Stones will be here. The last 3 times (73, 95, 2003) they toured here in the early months of the year. After that, our stadiums are for footy only. Well, Kooyong was tennis, but now thats gone. And, in 95, they played the MCG, and footy started only 2 days later. Bit of controversy, but no damage. 2003 was a Feb tour. We do have Telstra Dome, though. So, alas, they will probably still be in U.S.A. if you are here. Personally, i doubt they will come here at all.

Any of you Aussies drive across your country? Is it worth it & how long does it take? |

In 85 (my 1st trip to Perth) 2 mates and i drove from Melbourne to Perth. Took about 3 days. Once you are on the Nullabor, its just fucking straight! And flat. My mate got arrested at Norseman, on the W.A./S.A. border. Bit of drag (for him!hahahaha). About a week later, my other mate and i got done in Perth for D&D. We had a great night in the cells. really fun. Some really cool Aboriginal duy tossed a pack of Drum, so we didnt get withdrawals. The next morning, the cop who bailed us wrote down directions on the back of the bail slip on how to find the early opener pub (6am). My mate and i ended up having a few beers with the cops that snagged us! We got fined $50, which i thought was reasonable.
I know alot of Poms think it weird to travel by car in their cold, damp little country (BTW, the U.K is roughly the same size as my home state, Victoria), but we Aussies drive everywhere. I mean, its nothing for us to drive 50 miles to a party. I've driven to S.A., Sydney and Qld. Mind you, never again. I fly these days.
Look, Egon is coming here, why dont you? The Yank dollar buys you so much here, as our little buck is worth only 70% or so of yours. And, chicks love Yanks!
Except University chicks, Vegans, lesbians and nearly the whole entertainment industry. If you meet any of them, say you are Canadian. |
