from IORR:
The Rolling Stones may do two shows at the intimate 3,700 capacity Borgota Casino in Atlantic City, NJ, USA in September. If this deal is done, the ticket prices might be as high as they were for The Joint in Las Vegas |

THat's is a great example proving why they must do only huge stadiums for Brazil, Argentina and Mexico, in order to make the ticket prices affordable and reasonable enough, comparing to other Rock'n'Roll acts, like Eric Clapton, Deep Purple, and so forth..... |

IORR says two shows at the Borgota. If that's the case, tickets won't be $1,000. Remember how long it took to sell out the Joint in '02 at that price. All day long you could pull up a great ticket in a 1,200-seat club...and that was Vegas where there's more money to burn.
AC will be expensive, but I seriously doubt $1K (maybe $500-$600) |

Halfway between Philly and NYC, they have a lot more people to draw from. Also keep in mind they expect to get paid about 3 million show. The Joint sometimes books shows at a loss to draw more people to the hotel but its probably about do-able to come up with their guarantee based on ticket prices alone for Borgata. |

Again, if it's two shows (total of 7,400 tickets) they won't be selling them at $1,000 a ticket. That would gross them $7.5 Million for two shows, which ain't happening in AC. |

My guess would be $350-1000 and up. There arent going to be any $50-100 seats at a gig like that. Also, I doubt the 2nd gig would go on sale at the same time, it would be scheduled more as a temporary hold date depending on how fast the first show sells. |

I was at The Joint and it was one of the lesser acclaimed small venues. not worth the $$$$$ price tag!!!
Vredenburg, Utrecht and Astoria London were FAR better at about $85 USD a pop!
No $$$$$ shows for me this time around....I've been to 'The Mountain' already!
Nothing will top Vredenburg and Astoria! |

I appreciate your honesty at saying a club show, even at any price, wasn't worth the money.
I've always maintained that a lot of people feel stupid admitting publicly that they paid a ridiculous amount of money to see a show that turned out to be...just ok. So they'll tend to maintain it was worth every cent.
Personally, I'd have been seriously pissed off to have paid the amount of money they charged for that show at the Joint only to get a setlist you'd have got in a large arena. |

But rubbing elbows with Bruce Willis, Keifer Sutherland, Owen Wilson, and the cast of Charlie's (NOT Watts) Angels
made it all worth it!!!
Sure we were there for the glitz!
I KNEW it was gonna suck when they didn't start the show with......"Well THE JOINT was a rockin' goin', goin' 'round and 'round......"
This show how commercial they are, lack of imagination!
OH, Chuck probably didn't know that one!!!

I would be happy to pay big bucks to see them in AC, but it will probably be impossible to get tickets -the BOGATA "comps" the most box office tickets to the high rollers.. luckily (or unluckily, as the roll of the dice goes) I have a comp card - better go lose some more money there soon! |
