Yes , a Fantastic Show ! Ben Waters played the role of the " Bell Boy " for much of the tour . Unfortunately , Pete only performed on electric guitar for one or two songs per gig ( on average ) .

W.P.B. Amphitheatre ?!?!?!

W.P.B. AMPHITHEATRE ?!?!?!

What Happened to the Brand Spanking New Mizner Park Amphitheatre ?!?!?!

W- W- W- W- What ?!?!?! Oh , sure :

Take I-95 or Florida Turnpike to the Glades Road exit. Head East to Federal Highway. Make a right. Amphitheatre is on the left.

I miss my Baby Steelie and My Baby Marko something fierce .

Both men are two of my FAVORITE C-10 Brothers who have made the transition .................................

I have often " flirted " with the transition myself but in each and every case have pulled back at the last minute ( sort of like William Hurt in the Ken Russell Movie from the Late ' 70s -- Forget the name )

Josh , are you coming to Denver this summer for the WHO gig ?!?!?! Stones in '05 ?!?!?!

Please .....................I's needs to knows !

Jazzy !

jb As much as I would like to meet you and the rest of the gang, I have no plans of flying at this time. As a American Jew, I face incredibly strong odds of being killed by Muslim/Arab terrorists in a most brutal fashion....I owe it to my boys to try to live for their sake...accordingly, travel plans are on indefinite hold until we win the war on terror.

Sir Stonesalot >travel plans are on indefinite hold until we win the war on terror.<

So you aren't gonna travel in the next 20-30 years(Hey, that's optimistic!)?

JB...Meatloaf??? Really??? And you have the balls to diss me about going to see Prince? Hello Pot, this is Kettle, you are black.

As for staying on topic...

I'd include Johnny Cash on this thread, although it's borderline. Johnny's baritone/bass voice could be smooth as silk when he wanted it to be. I think he threw some gravel in there to sound a bit more authentic.

Willie Nelson...certainly. That nasal whine ain't a thing of beauty...but I don't think anyone could argue that he isn't a great singer.

Waylon...now see, I wouldn't include him because I think he had a really strong voice. A good voice. A deep, rich baritone. Very expressive. Not a huge range, but his style of music didn't really call for a whole bunch of octaves...y'know?

I'd also include Kurt Cobain. Great singer with a voice that sounded like it had been slashed with razor blades.

moonlightmile As for non-singers, the Zimmerman must rule!

April 22nd, 2004 11:00 PM
gypsy SS, I wrote that Waylon was a good singer...I loved his voice...I only mentioned that he was a good singer, well, because I had put down that his buddies Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash were not...so I brought up Waylon, as I didn't want anyone to think I dislike all country singers.

Cant Catch Me Howzabout Marianne Faithfull, who was OK early on when she was a proficient and lovely singer, very pleasant to listen to, then ruined her voice with smack, whiskey and cigarettes, becoming an electrifying singer in the process. The album "Broken English" still gives me shivers every time.

jb Billy Don't Be A Hero
( Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods )

The marchin' band came down along Main Street
The soldier blues fell in behind
I looked across and there I saw Billy
Waiting to go and join the line
And with her head upon his shoulder
His young and lovely fiancee
From where I stood I saw she was cryin'
And through her tears I heard her say

Billy, don't be a hero, don't be a fool with your life
Billy, don't be a hero, come back and make me your wife
And as he started to go she said, Billy, keep your head low
Billy, don't be a hero, come back to me

The soldier blues were trapped on a hillside
The battle raging all around
The sergeant cried, We've got to hang on, boys!
We've got to hold this piece of ground
I need a volunteer to ride up
And bring us back some extra men
And Billy's hand was up in a moment
Forgettin' all the words she said

She said
Billy, don't be a hero, don't be a fool with your life
Billy, don't be a hero, come back and make me your wife
And as he started to go she said, Billy, keep your head low
Billy, don't be a hero, come back to me

I heard his fiancee got a letter
That told how Billy died that day
The letter said that he was a hero
She should be proud he died that way
I heard she threw that letter away ...
