jb Another crock of shit poll........the first 4 positions should be "Exile","LIB", "BB", and "Sticky Fingers"....with the remaining 6 positions as follows: Some Girls, GHS, IORR, Tatoo You, VL, and Black and Blue.
04-29-03 01:04 PM
vampire Queen, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Supertramp, Yes? Whats wrong with those guys?
It can't be serious

04-29-03 01:12 PM
steel driving hammer Don't worry. As you well may know, every poll on the same topic is different every time it's taken.

They can't make up their minds and place bands on top who they think or seem are popular at the time the poll was done. Same song, different verse.

In other words, they don't know who's boots to Lick.

The Stones don't even belong on that poll, if you know what I mean.
04-29-03 01:42 PM
jb This is an French poll, isn't it?

L&A No JB, it's from Belgium, you know

But I think it could be the same in France or in the US, when you make a referendum with a "Classic Rock" audience, except maybe dEUS (a fantastic Belgian band) or Yes (one of Marc Ysaye favourite bands, together with Led Zeppelin).

And I think we should analyse those results...

If you ask to someone who is not a hard-fan of the Stones, which is the best "all times" best album, I think you will have 2 reactions:
- Security: the biggest top-of-mind classical product, such as Pink Floyd or the Beatles
- Actuality: the latest "newest classic rock band", and those are moving from one year to the other. For example Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Metallica, Joy Division...

That's maybe the reason why I'm still such a huge fan of the Stones: No Security, but always there

jb That a ludicrous comment....you obviously like Pink Floyd much more and it shows.
04-29-03 02:59 PM
vampire Well Lazy, imo, "Dark Side..." is umbereable
04-29-03 03:02 PM
jb unbearable piece of shit..how can you claim that the Stones are your favorite band and pick another bands album as better than any of the Stones....this really amazes me and i no longer can take anything this person says seriously.
04-29-03 03:06 PM
Moonisup Josh, we are in a special group to understand the stones music!
Not everyone gets that, and still places that horrible foursome above the stones
04-29-03 03:08 PM
jb Hi Rik!!! Yes, even people who post here like the Beatles and Pink Floyd more....I would like to think someone who posts on a Stones board would think atleast one of their albums was better than "dark side of the moon"..I always hated Pink Floyd and their boring fucking music.
04-29-03 03:50 PM
Lazy Bones Well, Vampire, you have the right to your opinion. I respect that and I'm mature enough to not challenge it - unlike some others.

04-29-03 03:53 PM
Pattie
I like Pink Floyd and Queen, but the Rolling Stones is the best band in the world. Theyve always been the best band in the world
