PartyDoll MEG From The Daily Telegraph:

Keith Richards' mother dies
By Sherna Noah in London

April 24, 2007 12:00

THE mother of rocker Keith Richards has died at the age of 91 of cancer.

The Rolling Stone, 63, had been keeping a vigil at his mother Doris's bedside since her diagnosis.

Richards extended his stay in London to be with his mother, who died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday.

The star's spokesman, Bernard Doherty, said: “Doris Richards, aged 91, mother of Rolling Stone Keith Richards, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday 21 April 2007.

“Family and friends request that their privacy is respected at this time.”

The rocker's father, Bert, died in 2002 at the age of 84.

Richards recently retracted a comment in a magazine interview that he snorted his father's ashes in a line of cocaine.

The guitarist, who underwent brain surgery after falling from a palm tree, said the quotes had been “lost in translation” and that it was a joke.

Well, listen, my heart goes out to Keith's family, but the lady had a great run, and I ... never met her.

Nellcote It's a drag when someone passes.
The consolation is for that person,
with that condition, the suffering is over.

Martha On Saturday I received a leather Bible with my name engraved on it from an anonymous person and later that same day saw Sean Lennon perform with his band. His Mother and his sister Kyoko, along with her 2 children, were in attendance and sitting just 15-20 feet away from us in the balcony of the Bluebird Theater.

Needless to say it was a very memorable day for me already and now one more (sad) thing to note.

RIP Doris

I send Keith many prayers for his loss. That Doris lived such a long life may help offset the sorrow a bit. I am glad she no longer suffers.

Peace and blessings,
Martha

If you are in any way making light of my feelings, I urge you to rethink what you are posting.
Losing a Parent is NO picnic.
Regardless of the age of the Parent or the Child.

There is a very thin line between the irreverance that we love about RO and utter tastlessness.

Sorry.
Touchy subject for many of us.

LJ.
