yeah, doug. christine. i caught the movie a couple of weeks ago right where he's sitting in the car and beast of burden comes on. considering the movie, great tune choice.
caught the big chill last night. yes. you can't always get what you want is the movie opener, the dead guys favorite tune. jo beth williams starts to play it on the organ in the church at the funeral and then they move into the stones as the movie begins. another great choice of tunes considering the movie content.
much to my chagrin i heard a stones tune used for a wireless commercial. i hate when that happens~ |

Anytime a film is on and the stones music begins to kick in the film suddenly becomes 10 times better!
Ever noticed how there always seems to be a lot of 'Nam' and gangster films with Stones music in it.
Maybe that is why I like those type of films.

In COMING HOME, there's also "My girl"... Scorsese's BRINGING OUT THE DEAD (2000) opens with a Jagger blues (?)... Wim Wender's beautiful KINGS OF THE ROAD (1976) contains a spoken line from "You got the silver" (in case anyone's interested, Wender's own ALICE IN THE CITIES (1974) has what appears to be original footage from a Chuck Berry presentation in Europe)... GOOD MORNING, VIETNAM (1987) has "Satisfaction" in it (I think so. Robin Williams plays a DJ)...

Bill Withers did the original version of 'Use Me'.
Mick Jagger just covered it.
Just the facts ma'am..... |
