Ten Thousand Motels Rod Stewart to headline Kilkenny gig

Rod Stewart is to headline an open-air gig at Nowlan Park this June as part of the annual Kilkenny Source Festival.

The veteran US singer will be supported by Natasha Bedingfield and other acts still to be confirmed.

Tickets for the June 25 event go on sale at 9am on Thursday.

Wow I didn't know Rod was a "US singer." I think the writer and proofreader screwed up.

Gazza Thats quite near where Woody lives.

When Dylan played that venue in July 2001, Woody played most of the show with him.

If ever a "surprise guest" was going to be a 'dead cert', I'd wager on it being this one.

glencar Yes but won't rehearsals be in full swing by then?

Gazza No.

the tour is due to start no earlier than what, 21 August?

That being the case, I doubt they'll start rehearsals until mid-July at the earliest, going by past experience.

If anything, they should need less rehearsal than usual. This is the shortest gap between the end of one Stones tour and the start of another for three decades.
