I think you should learn WHEN the Century XXI has started |

Soldatti |
Bob Dylan's last one, so far. |

A second vote for Dylan's "Time Out Of Mind". |
|
M.O.W.A.T. |
Van Lear Rose is a good one. |
|
Mel Belli |
Gawd, that's tough. I'll go reluctantly with "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot." How 'bout movies of the young century? "You Can Count On Me" ... "Roger Dodger" ... "Gladiator" ... "Lord of the Rings" ...? |

TOOM was 1997. Dont you mean "Love & Theft" (2001)?
That would be one of my favourites.
I'd probably go for Bruce's "The Rising" or "By the way" by the Chili Peppers, though.
Cash's "Solitary Man : American Recordings III" would be up there too.

Modest Mouse's "Good News for People Who Love Bad News" was last year's best, and certainly is up there on the century-long list ... Also, Marah's "20,000 Streets Under the Sky." There's a handful of songs on there that rank up there with my favorites of the last 20 years, let alone the last five. |

"Being John Malkovich" (1999, but close!)
"You Can Count On Me" (2000)
"Gosford Park" (2001)
"Mulholland Dr." (2001)
"City of God" (2002)

My vote goes to Ian Hunter's RANT ( 2001). Arguably his best effort ever!

1. The White Stripes: Elephant (this can take it hands down)
2. Pink: Mizzunderstood (say what you will, it is excellent)
3. Johhny Cash: When the Man Comes Around (his last classic)
Honorable Mention
The Black Crowes: Lions

World take note:
I am agreeing with Ian: the Stripes' Elephant.

Wish I could come up with something nobody else has mentioned, but for me it's a toss-up between "Love & Theft" and "Elephant".
I really love "The Return of the New York Dolls" but disqualify it because it's actually one of the best albums of the 70s, and because the DVD has so many extra tracks that the CD should've been a double.
Oooh - honorable mention to David Johansen and the Harry Smiths. Both of their albums are well worth having. I just got their second one. |

Hanoi Rocks "Twelve Shots On The Rocks"
Dont think I bought more than a dozen or 2 in the last 5 years.

time is on my side |
Just got back a few days ago from spring break. Great vacation. We went to Miami Beach (South Beach) and Key West. Had fun, fun, fun in the sun, sun, sun.
It looks like all my choices have been taken:
Ian Hunter- Rant
White Stripes- Elephant
Wilco- Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
Bob Dylan- Love and Theft
The Strokes- Room on Fire
Bruce Spingsteen- The Rising
and I'll list a band that nobody on this board likes but what the hell I like them
Radiohead- Hail to the Thief |
