Factory Girl I conducting my research into the audio world, this question came up-Can I buy a single-drawer dvd player and hook it up to my stereo system? Therefore, using it only to play cds/cdrs?

scope As long as the DVD player indicates that it can play CDR's (just about all new models can), yes you can. You may want to get one that will play MP3's too.
