04/14/2003
(4/14/03, 5 p.m. ET) -- The Rolling Stones are producing a new short documentary film on India, following the band's first concerts in the country, in Bangalore and the capitol city of Mumbai. The project was the idea of singer Mick Jagger, who had traveled to India prior to the band's appearances there.
The 30- to 40-minute film was shot in Mumbai around the city by Drive Thru Pictures, will be telecast on TV and other media in the US. Scenes include Stones at the music venue, Not Just Jazz By The Bay, and at the city's racetrack.
The India Times reports the band was impressed with the nation's emerging culture and wants to show "the changing face of India." The film is hosted by one of India's top models and theatre actresses, Ananya Dutt. |
