Listening to the japanese streaming site, and there is a boot being played that includes the following:
- a chuck berry song (i forgot which one now)
- cracking up
- a slower more funky version of Memo from Turner
- Good Women (sounds like an earlier iteration of Tumblin' Dice)
- Claudine (long version)
Anyone know what boot this is, and where or how I can get it?
Thanks in advance, |

Now it's streaming "No Spare Parts"-

I don't know what boot that is but the early TD version is called Good Time Woman. |

Thank you - next up is "strictly memphis" (sounds a bit later, maybe early 80s, there is some one singing with Mick - can't place the voice, Billy Preston?, Bill Whithers?)

Strictly Memphis is from 1985, the DW sessions. Bobby Womack, I think. |

Thanks again - now it's "Ivy League" - funky, jazzy instrumental (some very light back ground vocals - the vowel growl mick does to come up with a mealody) - the harmonica bit sounds like it was the basis for the harmonica in love is strong . . .
This is good stuff.

You're welcome. I think Ivy League is(as you've guessed) from the VL sessions. I haven't heard that one but I've heard of it. |

I think he was telling you that Bobby was the co-vocalist on Strictly Memphis. |

Strictly Memphis
(Jagger/Richards)
Owwwooooo, yeah
Well...
Like to put my foot down, head out of New York town
Hit the open road, open road
I guess it clears my mind, I love the change in time
It put my nose in joint, well well well
I'm just so signifyin', I know that it ain't no crime
I'm no country boy, country boy
The blues is in my heart, that's where my story starts
It makes me jump with joy, whoo whoo
Yes I'm goin' to Memphis
Yes I'm goin' to Memphis
And down in New Orleans
(Down in New Orleans)
Yes I'm goin' to Memphis, (goin')
Yes I'm goin' to Memphis, (goin')
I'm gonna be there
Whooo
Step on it!
Yeah .... yeah
Back down on in the south
Sweet tastin' in my mouth
And honeysuckle vine, suckle vine
Into the big bayou
In with the Zydeco
My lovin' come alive, come alive
Too big to come upstairs, and Muddy Waters stayed,
Water-stayed
From an old man's mouth
Whoowooo
Yes I'm goin' to Memphis
Yes I'm goin' to Memphis
And down in New Orleans, (down in New Orleans)
Owwo
Yes I'm goin' to Memphis
Yes I'm goin' to Memphis
I'm gonna be there
Step on it!
You got it!
Bit on it!
She got it!
Whooo...
Yes I'm goin' to Memphis
Yes I'm goin' to Memphis
I'm gonna be there
Step on it!
You got it!, (you got it)
Yeah...
Owwoooo
(Yes)
(I'm goin' to the Delta)
(Goin' on the shelter)
(Two little sissy boys)
(Say it again)
Yes I'm goin' to Memphis
Yes, I'm goin' to Memphis, (yeah)
And down in New Orleans, (Ohwoowoo)
Yes I'm goin' to Memphis
Yes I'm goin' to Memphis
And down in New Orleans, (Aww)
Yes I'm goin' to Memphis
Yes I'm like a tempest
And down in New Orleans, whoo
Yes I'm goin' to Memphis
Yes I'm goin' to Memphis
And down in New Orleans
(Say it again, say it again)
Yes I'm goin' to Memphis, (hey)
Yes I'm goin' to Memphis, (yeah)
And down in New Orleans
Yes I'm goin' to Memphis
Yes I'm goin' to Memphis
And down in New Orleans, (I gotta be there)
(I gotta be there)
Yes I'm goin' to Memphis
Yes I'm goin' to Memphis
And down in New Orleans
You come alive...lii-iive
Hope this helps....

touche, - no spare parts
Baby, baby, baby, baby...
Daddy drunk, daddy drunk himself to death
When he was thirty-five years old
Left five daughters an’ book ’em on the cayman row
Put ’em down an’ left an’ he left all pain to me
An’ a pullin’ outta dallas
An’ the dirt back in tennessee
So I called big sister on the telephone
I said how y’all down there in ’ere call t’home
Girl you won’t starve for fortune and fame
To earn big money in dallas and make her name
Lonely hearts
They’re just made to break
There ain’t no spare parts
Ain’t no oil to change
Honey, I ain’t accustomed to lose
If I want somethin’ bad
I always find a way to get thru
I tell ya somethin’
I ain’t accustomed t’lose
If I want somethin’ bad enough
I always find a way to get thru
Lonely hearts
They’re just made to break
There ain’t no spare parts
Ain’t no oil to change
I could be there thanksgiving afternoon
With a turkey in m’hand
And ah oughta buy a bottle o’ boo’...
I took a short cut about a quarter down
The turnpike road
And I’ll fill ’er up with gas
Ah’m a fill ’er ’bout san antone
An’ I’ll make it t’dallas ’bout a quarter pa’...half past three
Just another 30 miles
On the road back to 443
You know, lonely hearts
They’re just made to break
There ain’t no spare parts
There ain’t no oil to change
I tell ya
I ain’t accustomed to lose
If I want somethin’ bad enough
I always find a way to get it, baby
Including you
I tell ya something
I ain’t ever gonna lose
If I want somethin’ bad enough
I always find a way to get it, baby
Including you
I could be there thanksgiving afternoon
If I start off now put my foot down the floor, damn too
I spoke to big sister on the telephone
She said come on big brother
Why don’t you come on back home
I said, lonely hearts
They’re just made to break
There ain’t no spare parts
Aint’ no oil to change
I tell ya, honey
I ain’t accustomed to lose
If I want somethin’ bad enough
I always find a way to get it, mmmmm
Talkin ’ bout you
If I want somethin’ bad enough
I always find a way to get it don’t i?
If I want somethin’ bad enough
I always find a way to get it don’t i?
If I want somethin’ strong enough
I always find a way to get it
Baby! shoo-gahh!
Ahhhh, yah, yah, yah...
Tell ya somethin’, babe
I ain’t accustomed to lose
If I want somethin’ bad enough
I always find a way to get it
If I want somethin’ bad enough
I always find a way to get it
Lonely hearts
They’re just made to break
There ain’t no spare parts
There ain’t no oil to change
Lonely hearts
They’re just made to break
Ain’t no spare parts
There ain’t no oil to change
Now, i’m, I’m a-comin’ back
Comin’ back a’home thursday afternoon
If I don’t tumble down hard
Really like a way to get thru

I feel like I have lived under a rock for the past 25+ years of my stones fanhood. This stuff is unbelievable.
Now it's "Middle Sea" which sounds strangely related to Undercover, but also has sort of a samba sound to it, |
|
glencar |
That's from VL. I like it better than much that's on there! |

Got it. It ended with Cocaine from VL Sessions, which I have heard before. Now it' a boot from '81, not sure which one, but good sound.
Oh well, time to go get drunk and watch a marathon in the rain . . . |

I recall the folks at the IORR board discussing Lil Jackie a few years back. I don't think they liked it. |

someone posted the site some time ago. I have it "defaulted" on my itunes - I don't remember how to do it. the site is called "stonescollectors.com", but there is something you do that will save it on your itunes, and you can listen to streaming music all the time, you can't control or save it, but it is pretty amazing. I wish I could be of more help.
Best, |
|
winter |
Here are the details - don't know how to do it if you don't have itunes:
Open Itunes, hit the control and U buttons at the same time, and then type in the following:
