Read this bs from down under (politicians at it again!):
Rolling Stones say they don't need wheelchair access at N.Z. concert
AUCKLAND, N.Z. (AP) - The Rolling Stones have balked at a demand the stage for their Auckland concert Sunday have wheelchair access.
Auckland City Council safety officers also demanded the stage, measuring 24 metres high, 63 metres wide and 32 metres deep, should be surrounded by a safety rail.
Concert production manager Robbie Barclay said he had persuaded the council the measures are unnecessary.
"The guys are very old but none of them needs a wheelchair ramp," Barclay said Saturday.
The Stones, including Mick Jagger, 62 and Keith Richard, 65, are expected to play to a crowd of 55,000 at Auckland's Western Springs Stadium as part of a world tour.

this is an obvious attempt to make the stadium appear more full. Potential wheelchair ramps and additional gaurdrails will take up space that is expected to be filled with empty seats. |
