Mel Belli Sounds like Taylor is using a whammy-bar. Can anyone recall another occasion where he used one, either on stage or on record?

Throwaway I think that was the only time he did. His playing is mostly "natural" and involves very little gimmickry, although post-90 or so he does seem to overuse the wah-pedal a bit.

lotsajizz one of my favorite Taylor solos...one of his funkiest as opposed to bluesy or Berry-ish

Yeah this solo does kick ass. YET it is the type of song the boys could play today and would still sound good, IMO.
