ok so seriously there has to be some sort of get together of stones fans downtown Sydney. Does anyone know of a bar downtown Sydney that will be playing Stones tunes all afternoon/evening so we can all drink and fire up about the concert (the closer to Central Station the better.) I plan on getting to downtown Sydney from Wollongong at about 3:00 so if anyone wants to meet up hopefully we can find a place to drink to the Stones before taking transportation to Telstra!!!!! I'm from the states and have a very limited familiarity with Sydney pubs so if anyone knows a good place to meet up before going to the show (I don't really care if I miss the opening band.) please respond to this post so we can all meet up and toast to THE STONES!!!
Hopefully some people wanna meet up before the show and we can hangout before the show!!!!
if not ENJOY THE SHOW ANYWAY! |

Time man, time. I've got like 3 hours! Gotta see some sights, fix up the Mrs and have something to eat.
Not too keen on boozing before the show, though i'll have a few drinks at the stadium. Our hotel is in Chinatown, which is about 400 metres from Central. Give me a buzz on 0419 112 597. Name is Craig. I havent been to Sydney for about 13 years (hate the joint), but i've rung around, and there is NOTHING open on a Tuesday at around 12-2am. Maybe the Cross, but fucked if i'm going there. I'll try the casino, but not sure if leather jacket and Stones t-shirt will get me in.
I dont mind a glug or 20, but i dont want to have to have 15 pisses during the show.

The only bar at Telstra Stadium is The Brewery which is part of the Novotel Hotel and looks at the Stadium. Best place to meet is at the outside bar which will be a marquee/tent. Say from 5.30pm (same time the gates open). They expect to be very busy. Anyone wanting to meet beforehand in the City to catch the 4.35pm Rivercat, arrival at Olympic Park at 5.35pm we can meet at the Paragon Hotel, just across from Circular Quay and right next door to McDonalds, cnr Loftus & Alfred Streets - http://www.hotelparagon.com.au/paragon/, courtyard, downstairs bar.

The Brewery - Thats where i was originally gonna stay. Isnt it "Paddy's"? It's a fair hike from the venue (at least 2 travellers - VB preferably) and you gotta cross the Parramatta, which is like a 15 lane freeway.

Three Monkeys and Scruffy Murphys go pretty much all night.
In between Town Hall and Central Stations right in the heart of the city. You might also bump into a backpacker or three. Good thing is the Night Bus runs very close to these.
Better yet - Bondi Hotel will go till about 4:00am. In Bondi of course. At the cross, the Empire Hotel will go very late or Bada Bing has pole dancers if you're into that sort of thing. Perhaps Mick may be out and about??
