It is.

But since Bruce is obviously reading 'em and then calling audibles, it can only get worse...

BTW, ticket sales for the Gillette Stadium show today are pretty sluggish.
Rumored second show there seems unlikely.

Hope that'll prompt somebody into rethinking the venues on the next leg.

Yes....hopefully they'll be in arenas some 3-4,000 miles east!

I'll never forget that! And the fact that I drove by the entrance where I was supposed to meet Nellcote et alia & had to double back around, which cost me an extra half hour for that half a mile.

Yep..most of the rest of Europe seems to be doing Ok, sales wise. I'd much rather have an ESB arena tour here (which we never get) than stadiums, though.

Hell, you got arenas in the fall.

And three sellouts at RDS - The Auld Sod seems to be Jersey East these days, doesn't it?

Meanwhile US sales, even for arenas, have been spotty.
Lots of empty seats in Milwaukee, Indy and Cincy, curtained off sections in Columbus, tickets discounted to $40 in Anaheim...

But still they think that stadiums are a good idea.

we got 13 arena shows for the whole continent, Lefty. About 200,000 tickets. He normally plays more shows than that in NJ alone in an average tour.

We do tend to get somewhat shortchanged by comparison when its an E Street Band tour, but theres no doubting the fact that in terms of America v Europe, overall the more hardcore fanbase seems to have moved this side of the ocean in recent years.

Did that have something to do with some website poll, or was that for a series of different shows? I remember seeing it in the shortlist.

Always pleased to see it in the set. He debuted it at my first ever Bruce show in 1981, so it has special memories for me.

He also played Point Blank that evening, which I see made a very rare appearance too last night.
30th March 2008 12:51 PM
sweetcharmedlife As far as I know Gazza,it's only the CA shows that had radio station polls for songs. And since this was the opener he didn't read any freaking signs either. Played it all on his own.

'Sherry Darling' was introduced in Columbus as the radio contest winner.

Bruce said Stevie voted for it...

I don't listen to our crappy radio stations,SCL..so there could have been a contest and I would never have known-lol. I took Bruce's comment as more of a joke, like Leftie said.
31st March 2008 09:00 PM
Gazza 'Atlantic City' and 'None But The Brave' (!!) soundchecked ahead of tonight's show in Vancouver, apparently..
