This post will be my last at this message board...After 2000 posts and one month short of three years, I have decided it is time to move on...Most of you can probably guess why this is so...but I'm not going to dwell on that here...I just wish it wasn't so
I would like to give my sincere thanks to the Unholy Trinity...This board is without equal in the Stones community...Their patience with me over the years has been greatly appreciated if not questionable...I wish them the best of luck and am sure they will continue to do a great job...You all should stop and appreciate all that they are doing for you...send them some money, send them some boots...this stuff ain't free...I absolutely admire their committment to the "Greatest Rock N' Roll Band in the World"
Posting here has, until recently, always been a pleasure...it is no longer so much fun...The evolution of this board has amazed me...
I have nothing but fond memories of the people who have posted here...many of who have stop posting all together or are now posting on other boards...I thought I might list all those that come to mind, but, I'm sure I would leave someone out and believe it or not, I do not want to offend anyone..although...should you be in need of abuse, you can certainly look me up at that other message board
I would hope that you would know that with almost all whom I have butted heads over the past, it was all in jest...Meant only to entertain those who were clearly entertained by it...Some were not, I know, but some were...call it a push
I hope to see you all at an upcoming show...I anxiously await the new album...and will, without a doubt, raise a glass in your honor the moment the CD begins to spin

Hopefully, when all the new stuff is out and the tour is rocking along, the people who piss off are not allowed back on. I respect people's decisions, but give us a glimmer with what the problem is? I'm sure the mods can set us all straight and tell us not to pick on some one who maybe sensitive, but i mean, am i the reason he left?

I liked Fiji's posts, and he seemed a really passionate fan of our band, but you know, its cool.

I liken Fiji to my idiot brother-in-law who fancies himself an auto mechanic...He once claimed to have diagnosed a problem I was having with an old BMW with which I refused to part...he tore apart the engine all along swearing he could fix it and that he knew what the problem was...all the while telling me what was wrong with it...that was six years ago...the parts still take up half my garage, the car is not fixed, and my brother-in-law went to maxlugar.com and has not returned...what a turd
One thing that's always been agreed upon by most of the faithful is that the Stones will never announce their last concert, and that a farewell tour is a concept more suited to Cher than the Stones. The whole "hey everybody, look at me, I'm leaving...I AM!...for real...you won't have ME to kick around anymore...leaving...right...NOW..." sweeping exit bit is better left to drama queens than to real rockers who battle on through thick and thin, letting criticism roll off their backs, and do it till they drop.
Jeez, I don't know WHY Cher's Farewell Tour popped into my head right now, in this thread...me, I thought she shoulda hung it up a looooong time ago...I certainly won't miss her.

I liken Fiji Joe to a guy who got punk'd by his brother-in-law when, on the guise of fixing a mechanical problem, the aformentioned Nats completely dismantled Fiji's Kia and left its spread all over his trailer, and then booked the scene laughing. Ahhh, I'm only messing around with Fiji because, like everyone who makes a grand saucy exit, we all know they keep reading. If I thought that he was really gone, or that he wouldn't have the opportunity to call me names under an alias at www.muflugar.com, I wouldn't say anything about him. Only a complete panso-wimp would start threads and flame someone who wasn't even there to defend themselves. I think 99.9% of us would agree with that. |
