All Things Considered, April 5, 2008 · Ian Stewart formed the Rolling Stones in 1962 with Brian Jones, but he got chucked out a few years later because his fondness for golf and Lacoste shirts didn't fit their outlaw image.

Jesse Kornbluth, a writer for Headbutler.com, and Andrea Seabrook remember Stewart, who served faithfully as the Stones' road manager until his untimely death in 1985.

Sioux Hope to listen later when I have the time....Brian hired Stu. Brian put the ads in the paper. But yes, Stu was the backbone of the group back then. And I'm so glad he swallowd his hurt and stayed with the band in all the capacities that he enjoyed.
