The_Worst Anyone know if a date has been announced?

Gazza I think they'll need to wait for it to bomb at the cinemas first, surely...

..although I have heard late May mentioned, but I dont know how accurate that is.

charlotte gazza, surely it can outperform:

NOW PLAYING IMAX Theaters

mrhipfl I actually have a feeling it won't do that bad. It's shown in more IMAX theaters than any other movie has before.

Gazza Dont get me wrong....I think it'll do OK and its been marketed very well (Over here anyway, at least) - but theres a very limited audience for concert movies/rock films and once you get past the hype that surrounds the initial release, I cant see it having much staying power.

Some Guy I predict this will be one of them movies you gotta see multi times, kinda like Titanic.
3rd April 2008 08:32 PM
MRD8 According to Boxoffice Mojo its only playing on 276 screens...I don't know how many of them are IMAX screens...will itgo into a wider release later on or straight to DVD? I'm hoping for the latter to happen...
3rd April 2008 08:51 PM
mrhipfl It's 93 IMAX screens, which is a new record. I don't think it'll get a wider release.

I do aswell - unfortunately not like the Rocky Horror Picture Show http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rocky_Horror_Picture_Show_cult_following
'cause everyone has his own home-movie-theatre.
or bloody dvd & telly.

but wouldn't it be cool to see it every other midnight in the flix for cheap, with a case of beer and a hord of drunken friends?

I'll give a report of audience attendance in Denver when I go down to see it this afternoon. We are going to see the second viewing at 4MT (first showtime is 1:00) and I cannot WAIT!!!! I know I'll be crying like a baby....and smiling ear to ear. I wonder how well it's gonna do in the theaters too. We are about to find out.

Let's ROCK!

xxoo,
Martha
