A GREAT man - one of the greatest.

There would be no Rolling Stones without Muddy Waters.

I slapped five with the hand pictured above in 1980 at Mancini's in McKees Rocks, PA.

Put flowers on his grave in 1999.

Hope nothing in this post aggravates PDog.

jb Is Muddy still taking a dirt bath?
4th April 2006 02:22 PM
FPM C10 No. On the third day he rose from the dead and ascended to heaven.

Don't tell me you Jews don't believe THAT either!
4th April 2006 02:26 PM
telecaster Little known fact but Parmy and Tele are the only two
from RO that have visited the Muddy Waters museum in Westmont, IL USA

Fact jack

The Stones went to Muddy's house in '81 for a visit
during the tour

His house was half the size of jb's servant's quarters

4th April 2006 03:37 PM
FPM C10 Like a typical wannabe, I wannabe there too!

Seriously, I didn't know about that. If I ever get out that way again it will be a priority.
4th April 2006 03:37 PM
Break The Spell Happy birthday to Muddy Waters on what would have been #91 for him. May the "Rollin' Stone" blues play on forever.
4th April 2006 03:38 PM
jb I have no desire to be part of a party that has Cynthia McKinney as it's role model!!!
4th April 2006 03:49 PM
FPM C10 Cynthia McKinney is jumping out of the cake at Muddy Waters' birthday party? HUH???

If you're waiting for someone to debate the point, you might as well get comfortable. It's going to be a long wait.
4th April 2006 03:55 PM
Saint Sway the only bands worth listening to are those whose sound you can in some way trace back to Muddy Waters.

and any band that you cant musically trace back to Muddy Waters is shit. And is not worth listening to.
4th April 2006 03:58 PM
FPM C10 Hmmm...might agree with you, except I saw the Pogues recently.

Not a trace of Muddy Waters there, but definitely not shit. Er, I mean, shite.

Not much in the Clash either.

But those are exceptions to what is otherwise a fairly valid rule.

LOL We should celebrate this agreement! I psoted a link earlier to a far left board where 3/4's supported the nut.
4th April 2006 04:10 PM
FPM C10 I've tried to tell you guys a million times - I am not a far-left nutjob. I am strictly a middle-of-the-road nutjob.

Good thing is it is 10ft from the train station

You can drink on the train

Sir Stonesalot If the river was whiskey
I'd be a diving duck

I'd dive down to the bottom
And I would not come up

Yay for Muddy!
