Topic: Herb Carneal Appreciation Thread Return to archive Page: 1 2
1st April 2007 03:07 PM
Starbuck For the third year in a row, the Minnesota Twins have lost one of their icons just before the season is set to begin. In 2005, it was longtime public address announcer Bob Casey. In 2006, it was Kirby Puckett. This season, it was Herb Carneal, the voice of the Twins for 51 years.

Carneal was 83 and died of heart failure at his home in Minnetonka. He had been doing only home games for the last 10 years or so; the last few years he was only doing half of some of the home games.

He will indeed be missed!
