Rolling Stones Expected in Sofia in August
Top news: 1 April 2003, Tuesday.
Rock veterans Rolling Stones are expected to make a tour in Bulgaria at the beginning of August, Sofia mayor Stefan Sofianski announced after a meeting with "Underground" producer Katovich, organizer of Rolling Stones concerts in Belgrade.
The concerts of the famous group in the two capitals have been scheduled for August 2 and 4 in Belgrade and Sofia respectively.
The concert in Belgrade was initially planned to be moved to Sofia due to the state of emergency following the assassination of Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic.
Mick Jagger has reportedly demanded that the concert is staged at a place, housing no less than 120,000 people.
The concert in the two capitals are part of the legendary group's world Licks Tour to mark its fortieth anniversary. Rolling Stones are expected to open their concert in Sofia with their hottest hits from the 60s, such as Street Fighting Man.
