Sir Stonesalot Ahhhh HAHAhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

man, Doxa...whatever you are smokin' pass it this way!

You got hold of some mind altering, delusional shit there!

Ladies and Gentlemen...the new Hitler...no, no, not Saddam Hussien.....It's the President of the United States!!!

That's fucking hilarious.

And you say we Americans are arrogant!

cocksucker I hope not Motherbaby...
But slogans like "Saddam ass kissers" as some of your compatriots use shows the very low level they have sunk to. If one criticizes American politics you are an "Saddam ass kisser". If this is the way how citizens of the biggest free democratic country react I don't think it's very wise to let them spread their ideas of "freedom" all over the world. Freedom in their little narrow minded world is not much worth I am afraid.

Doxa No, Mother baby,I didn't suggest that Americans are nazis; I just stressed out some analogy between two kinds of bully-talk - and the aggressive attitudes represented in talks like that makes me scary. I hate to see that that great ideas like freedom or liberty are used in a cheap propaganda; those words turn out to be just pieces of mandra to justify whatever egoistic acts. I posted earlier that those great American ideals like freedom of speech and democracy - of which everyone should be proud of - are the true losers of this war. You know, you don't feel such a free at all, if someone is holding a gun in your ear and saying "Be free or I'll shoot you". If we say with American classical pragmatists that the meaning of concept is based on its practical consequences, so then the way the Bush administration - and its followers here - are behaving is just renaming the terms like "liberty" or "freedom of speech". (And, you know, I don't give a damn if the guy is called a "bush" or a "gore", that I leave to you Americans; I am worried about international matters and mostly UN).

But hey! I don't want to hurt anyone, just trying to open some eyes, mostly mine.. aaargh, I know that is naive and idialistic; the truth is basically that this is only for my own therapy, thinking out loud.

Still, one brave American of whom I admire a lot wrote a long ago:

"Don't follow the leaders, watch the parking meters"

Doxa Sir Stonesalot, i'm glad I make you laugh - that's good.

I have to admit that may analogy to Adolf Hitler was a little bit nasty. But that was because I am so sick and tired of people using as the lousy argued analogies between Saddam and Hitler - or the happenings in thirties or forties in Europe and now - just to make this war justified. You can use history and find analogies for your purposes - it's not that difficult. I know the name Adolf Hitler represents something evil and if you stick that lable into your enemies, thats good rhetorics - works for masses. Saddam is a horrible tyrant - not maybe in the rate of Hitler and Stalin but quite close. But what goes for the idea to make a world a little bit safer place to live - sorry but I see the current rhetorics and acts of the U.S. government a bigger threat to peace than Saddam regime; it seems like this "sheriff of the world" -role is getting out of control.. I am afraid where all this leads, this hatred that is rising all over the world. I suppose Osama bin Laden is happy nowadays. America is behaving exactly in that manner that suits to him and for his purposes. I am not happy of that, not at all.

Now I'm gonna listen some Emotional Rescue and forget politics for a while.

What makes you a Saddam ass kisser is the fact that you go out of your way to attack the US and what they are doing but never once raise the issue of the incredible human rights violations and war crimes and murders that Saddam Hussein is committing. That doesn't seem to bother you. You don't think a man like this should be taken down. Why? You seem to put Bush on the same level as Saddam, which is stupid.

You leave me no choice.
03-30-03 11:16 PM
Sir Stonesalot You know, you have no fucking idea where I'm coming from. You think I speak of freedom and liberty for the sake of PROPAGANDA? You fucking insolent ASSHOLE!

Let me tell you a few things about me.

I believe in calling it the way I...ME...MYSELF...see things. I don't care how GW sees things...or Rumsfeld, or Powell or Cheyney. I am my own man. I have no political party. I registered to vote as Non-affiliated. I am not a Republican. I am not a Democrat. I am ME. Period. I don't care how other people on this board see things. They are not me. I go to the bother to inform myself, from many different sources...and I make up my opwn mind in what I believe, or what I don't believe.

Here are some things that I believe in so much, that I gave FOUR FUCKING YEARS OF MY LIFE for:

Freedom of choice, of speech, of thought.
Liberty to be my own person, to make my own decisions, and to make my way through life on my own terms.
The right to vote, the right not to vote.
The ability to marry a black woman, a latino woman, an oriental, a little green martian, or another man.
The seperation of goverment from the church...giving me the ability to worship God, Allah, Satan, or Brian Jones without interference.
The right to live in a dumpster or a 12 bedroom mansion depending on how hard I want to work for it.
The right to listen to Brahms, The Dead Kennedys, The White Stripes, The Rolling Stones, or The Squirtin' Murphys.
The right to shop at the Gap, or Walmart, or a local rummage sale. Even wear a dress from the Salvation Army.
The right to educate myself, to learn....about algebra, geography, science, physics, astrology...anything I care to take the time to study.
The right to read Playboy, Christian Science Monitor, The Fantastic Four, Time, Newsweek, or Mein Kampf.

To me freedom is NOT fucking PROPAGANDA you CUNT! It was something that I felt so strongly about, and STILL feel so strongly about...that I gave my LIFE to the United States Army for 4 years. I was willing to die if needed to protect those freedoms....and if we had gone after Khadafi, I very well may have. So don't you DARE tell me that what I believe in, an opinion that I chose of my own FREE WILL, using MY OWN MIND, is nothing but PROPAGANDA...To me, freedom and liberty are LIFE ITSELF. So until you have stood in my shoes don't you even THINK about telling me that I'm a fucking mindless puppet spouting GW Bush rhetoric. I didn't vote for the guy, and I think he's a damn halfwit. If I didn't believe in what we were doing in Iraq, I wouldn't fucking support it. If I thought for one SECOND that this was just some kind of imperial oil grab, I'd be out in the streets shouting my vocal chords raw. I know the positions of both sides...and I chose to support FREEDOM. If it pisses you off that I use those words...too fucking bad, you shit encrusted ass hair. I know what those words mean, I live them every day, and I'll say them whenever I fucking feel like it.

I'm done talking about this. You assclowns are as close minded and blind as you accuse me of being.

If you want to talk about the Rolling Stones, I'll be on other threads.

In that case you were a Saddam ass kisser yourself for many years. Why didn't I hear you the past years about Iraq? Why don't I hear you about at least a dozen other countries where human rights are violated? Your indignation is a bit late and selective. But it doesn't seem to bother you.
03-31-03 04:47 AM
Doxa Wow, Sir Stonesalot! If words could kill, I surely would be dead now. Is that what your liberty is all about: to kill or shut up the people who disagree with you, who dare to express their own thoughts? Yes, thank you for lesson. I learned that "to be free" means that you can call people "cunts","insolent fuckin ASSHOLES", "shit encrusted ass hair", "assclowns"... You really demonstrated a lot of what I tried to say. We surely have quite different views of what the term "freedom of speech" means.

But I try to cope with your anger (though I dont accept it); I've learnt that the very terms like "freedom" or "democracy" are a kind of fundamental gospel or old time religion for patriotic americans, and one is not suppose to question them or one will be buried in Hell very soon; it is a question of blind faith - and it is sometimes very difficult for Europeans - or Non-Americans- like me difficult to grasp that. My apologies that I dont always recall that, my mistake (and this is NOT irony).

I don't want to argue against any form of fundamentalism - it is simply rationally impossible, and it only leads to hatred and untolerance (and, you know, I learned this from a great American thinker.)

But there is one thing I think we agree: we should stick in the subject of the Stones.

This is not what I was trying to say, but try to get it in your thick head that America's version of freedom isn't everyone's cup of tea. And, something very important too, many countries believe that America has spilled it's chance. If we look at the past there are so many American fuck-ups (Vietnam: 2 million innocent dead -with chemical warfare by the way, Korea, Chilli, Iraq, Iran). Why should Europe or Asia believe and trust America this time?

The "war on terror" is only breeding more Muslim fanatics everyday, more America haters, more people who detest everything that has to do with "western civilisation". You can see it throughout the East, but also in Europe we have cities now closing McDonalds esteblishments, American tourists are ridiculed in Amsterdam and Paris. The anti-America movement is getting bigger and bigger.

And what are you going to do once you "liberated" Iraq? Iraq is surrounded by 500 million Muslims who hate America and Americans -are you going to "liberate" them too in order to prevent another 9/11??? Or are you going to build a wall around the US?

Mathijs

Shall I make a prediction? Your War on Terror will only lead to another 9/11.

How the fuck would you know what I've been thinking about for the past years? Are you some kind of God that can read minds. I feel very strongly about countries that treat there people like animals. However, I've already stated that not all of these countries are an imminent threat to us.

The US feeds the hungry all over the world. We send millions, if not billions of dollars around the world to countries that experience natural disasters or to bail out failing economies.

For the last 12 years I've been saying we should take Saddam down. George Sr should have done it but he cared too much about world opinon and the UN. See where it gets you?

You put the US and Iraq on the same moral plane and hence are beyond serious debate on this subject.

I have strong suspicions otherwise.

Maxlugar [quote]cocksucker wrote:
First abolish capital punishment in your civilised democratic country and than we talk again.

Here a good one right off the bat, Cocky.

You are equating the US putting murderers to death with, the implication goes, a country we are at war with.

Let me see, Saddam Hussein murders innocent citizens for speaking out or looking at him sideways vs the U.S. passes a law that people vote on to put to death people who murder other people.

Yeah, that's on the same moral plane.

03-31-03 09:32 AM
cocksucker Wrong maxlugar. Both examples are morally unacceptable but on a different level. The fact I am against the death penalty has nothing to do with the war in Iraq. But you must agree with me that in every civilised society the death penalty does not exist. So be careful talking about moral values and imposing them on other people. You are walking on thin ice.
03-31-03 09:41 AM
Maxlugar We are not imposing the death penalty on any other country.

What country are you from, by the way?

sadly that seems to be the goal of our present adminstration to provoke and anger more attacks so they can have ongoing wars, rally everyone around the flag, ratchet up the fear quotient and fuel the fire to stoke the war machine to roll on continously. more innocent lives will be lost and for what? AND don't tell me freedom and liberation, that's a bunch of bs. It's time to stop believing in fairy tales and realize the group running this country could give fuck-all about the american public or the world in general. we're just pawns on a chessboard where the goal is world power globally and a nice mixed cocktail of socialism and fascism nationally. The Patriot Act was only the beginning.
