Yes, it's true, that really was not the evening to play Happy.

See the raging Keef getting really hot - the telecaster survived:

Break The Spell Heavy Metal Parking Lot is classic!! It may look silly to watch that these days, but it was a fun time where you could have pre and post parties in the parking lots before a show. Sometimes those parties ended up being a better time than the actual show!! Today, there's no way the police would let you get away with drinking in the parking lot and carrying on with your friends.

sadly, my generation is not responsible enough to handle this. The feeling of entitlement amongst my peers is disheartening. Many people would die, be robbed, or destroy property if this behavior were permitted. This is one reason why I encourage the use of "non lethal weapons" by officers to be used liberally. I have to face the facts...it's not my father's world anymore!

jb I was glad to never be a part of that scene...but sadly, this was the beginningof the end of the Stones among the younger generation. The Heavy Metal saturated their need for rebellion and anti-establishment..not "Emotional rescue".

I know all too well what you're talking about, I'm in that same generation as well, I think I may be a bit younger than you, but same generation anyway.

Good choice, after a hard week, Hang Fire and One Hit To The Body do the trick for me.

Exile was one of those albums I listened to for about 10 years before I actually read the lyrics. There were many nice surprises. I had a new love for Casino Boogie after knowing all the lyrics.

With me, Beggar's Banquet was the first of the big 4 albums I bought and its actually my favorite Stones album right behind Exile. The out-takes from the 68-73 period are all great as well.
