Agreed. But it's hard to know what an Imp might do....on a minute to minute basis. Bob LOVES the keyboard I think more than the guitar. Slightly more I mean.

Whatever he does I wish I could be at every show. Especially now.

To those of you hitting this tour....you have luck on your side.

Dylan rehearses band in Poughkeepsie, NY, again
3.26.07

Bob Dylan Plays the Bardavon…Again
In closed rehearsals for a European tour

(Poughkeepsie, NY) In a major coup for the Bardavon 1869 Opera House, and for the second time in just thirteen months, Bob Dylan and his band spent five days last week (March 20-24) rehearsing on the Bardavon’s stage prior to a European tour which begins March 27 in Sweden.

For New York State’s oldest theatre which claims “legendary performances since 1869” and where Mark Twain, Houdini, Sarah Bernhardt, John Philip Sousa, George M. Cohan Teddy Roosevelt, Ethel and John Barrymore, Buffalo Bill Cody, Frank Sinatra and as recently as 2003 Al Pacino tried out his Broadway production of Salome, you would think booking big stars would not be a big deal. But Bardavon Executive Director Chris Silva, who is a life-long Dylan fan, said he found out three months ago that Dylan wanted to come back to rehearse in the theatre again, “I was thrilled and amazed. Obviously the Bardavon is becoming one of Bob’s favorite places to play. He’s spent nine days here over the last year or so. Not too many theaters can make that claim.”

Dylan brought with him a first class line up of musicians including everyone from his most recent Grammy winning CD Modern Times: Tony Garnier (Bass), George Receli (Drums), Don Herron (Steel Guitar, Fiddle), Stu Kimball (guitar) and Denny Freeman (Guitar).

Silva, who was allowed to watch the famously reclusive artist in rehearsal from the wings, reported that, “Just like when they were here last year, it was all business working 3-4 hour stretches without a break. They sounded really great too!”

And Dylan did personally thank Silva at the end of the week, complimented him on the Bardavon and said he’d be back.

Hey! Sir Nellcote....when might I see Peter Wolf in concert? He is on my MUST see list...do you have the skinny? The low-down diggity?

Thanks for the reminder...Stu has put on 40 lbs. or more since he started touring with Bob. He got pissed and left the stage at the Lincoln show...but came back at the end. I wonder what goes on behind those stage curtains. ;-)

You be my Main Music Man!

hugs and kisses,
Mrs. Mellencamp

Speaks volumes for the contrary ol' bastard that he wins a Grammy for a song and its one of the few off the album he still hasnt played

Good to see the quota of 'new' songs back up to four last night. The opening night tally of two was almost Stones fall 2007-like.
