I have a soft spot for some pop music, but not most. Wanna hear some real wretchedness? Try listening to Cold Spring Harbour right outta 1972. Heard clips of the songs and it sounds terrible. Especially cause his vocals are sped up, but it's still the apex of singer-songwriter sentimental junk. Piano Man and Streetlife Serenade aren't much of an improvement either. That "Captain Jack" song is kinda interesting thanks to some hilariously dumb and obscene lyrics and it would be a lot better if not for such a terrible chorus. Sometimes I wanna punch myself for knowing so much about an artist that I hate. Empty Glass>Billy Joel's entire output.
My life's a mess I wait for you to pass
I stand here at the bar and hold an empty glass
Poor old Petey (circa 1980, also see Face Dances, All the Best Cowboys Have Chinese Eyes, The Who By the Numbers, 1975 in general and 2003's child porn bust) |

Son !!!!!!
In the early 1980's , " The Petey " & The Clash were the only artistes doing anything REMOTELY original ( I just can NOT include ' Tattoo You ' ......can you's ?!?! ) ! |
