Topic: Live DVD The Who 1975/76 Return to archive
28th March 2006 06:10 PM
albert Watched a documentary on Dutch television tonight about Keith Moon. In there was footage of a concert from 1975 or 1976. It was of very high quality (both sound/video aswell as the performance!); I suppose it was filmed for tv or something?

Not long ago someone on this board mentioned some DVD's from the Who of that period in another thread but I can't find this back anymore.

Could you please name them again for me?
Are these bootleg or official DVD's?
You have a link for a download?

thanx,
Albert

VoodooChileInWOnderl During those days Nicky Hopkins recorded for The Who the "Who by Numbers" album, wondering if he toured with them during this tour. Does anybody know for sure?

albert Thanx for all the information. Especially Jumping Jack.
Did some 'googling'. Must have been from 1974 Charlton - UK or 1975 - The Summit.
Tried DAD but, to my surprise, nothing there from the Who.

Anu advise if there something for download somewhere?

Albert

No, Nicky Hopkins never toured with The 'OO , it was only after Mr Moon had departed that a live keyboard player was added (Rabbit Bundrick).

YES !!!!!

Houston , 1975

However , lately I have been watching a lot of the following :

1. ) THE WHO , Seattle , 1982
2. ) THE WHO , Chicago , 1979 ( Featuring an absolutely fabulous encore that proves even an old dog like The Who can learn new tricks ........... )
3. ) THE WHO , Camden , 2002 ( BEST WHO YET !!!! .. as your young Joey completely missed the 2004 tour )

The only time I ever saw the Who was that Halloween show,
when they did Quadrophenia in toto, and encored with
"Won't get fooled again" and "My generation."
For that show, I took D___, of the girlfriends I've had,
the only one who seemed like a lost soul.
D___ had a biological father who abandoned family; bad stepdad, lived in poor neighborhood, went to community college, then art school, and had no job.
I always thought D___ might end up homeless.

Being an art school grad, D____ was the only person
in costume for the show (except guests Billy Idol and
Gary Glitter on stage). D____ painted her face completely white, like a Japanese Noh
play actress, and had a completely white stage mask.

Through a now disgraced but then powerful contact, we got
mezzanine seats very close to stage, and eye level with band. Billy Idol could see D___ from the stage and smiled, and the drunken Who fans all around us were able to
find their way back to their seats after getting more
beers, because of D_____'s look.

D____ only liked British punk rock acts, and went to the
Who show reluctantly; we broke up shortly afterward.
She later moved to northern Europe and became a housewife and mother. She still continues to create art.

Where is the list of US cities anchored by the great Omaha show?
