Stones working on new album?
By JAM! Music
After announcing the release this spring of the first of three singles box sets, there are indications the Rolling Stones are working on their first studio album in seven years.
A brief posting on their official website states "the band's members are working on an unspecified project that necessitated the cancellation of drummer Charlie Watts' plans to tour Europe in the summer."
The last Stones studio effort, "Bridges To Babylon," was released in 1997.
Meanwhile, ABKCO Records, the owners of the Stones 1960s catalogue, will release "The Rolling Stones Singles 1963-1965" on May 4.
The compilation will feature 12 discs, three of them reproducing EPs that were vinyl-only releases, "The Rolling Stones," "Five By Five" and "Got Live If You Want It!"
The second box, "The Rolling Stones Singles 1965-1967," will follow this summer, and the final installment, "The Rolling Stones Singles 1968-1971," later in the year. (More on Rolling Stones) |
