" Spring has not Sprung "
" The new Who album has been delayed, not cancelled. The release date I had hoped for in the late spring or very early summer was whipped from under my nose after three years of writing. Shows we hoped to do in the early summer seemed to fizzle, and we lost our drummer to Oasis until January 2006. All alternatives proposed, and which I have desperately considered, do not fit in with my current commitments. I am committed to record the music for my new story The Boy Who Heard Music. I am also completing my autobiography later this year. Sadly, this forces a postponement of the planned Who activity this year for some indeterminate time.
I had lots of plans, but no hard schedule. And that is what has created this predicament. It’s probably my fault, because I work very slowly in the studio, and either no one believed I was actually recording, or they got tired of waiting. I should say that Roger has done what he calls sketch vocals on several tracks I produced, and the results are very exciting. But I feel I can’t tour any more with the Who without a new record. So until that record is actually in my hands, I must hold my breath and live in hope. "

Actually Nellcote , it is a very smart move on our Chairman's part . Best to delay any WHO TOUR until the summer of 2006 when U2 , Paul McCartney , The Eagles , The Rolling Stones & Elton John will all be FINISHED touring the United States !

I'm sorry, but my work on my new musical "Boys Boys Boys" and my autobiography "I Like Boys" has unfortunately derailed my work on the new Who album (working title: Big Boys DO Cry). I'm really mad at myself about the whole thing but there was nothing I could do about it because I have been superceded by me. I do plan to write a new song cycle about the whole unavoidability of myself thing -I'm toying with the title "Boy Oh Boy" - which is scheduled for 2010. The new Who album could possible be squeezed in between the release of that and the Broadway version of "The Who Sell Out". |

Yeah, I was just joking around to (hopefully) make Joey sniggle. I think Pete really is a decent guy, but given the circumstances of his unfortunate recent misunderstandings, he should perhaps stop putting the word "boy" in everything he writes (for example, Real Good-Looking Boy" - OY!)
I think the fact that Pete can still breathe fire on stage (and he CAN) doesn't necessarily mean the "Who" could put a great or even good new album out. Of COURSE in my mind that has NOTHING to do with the new Stones album which WILL be everything we all want and more! |
