Factory Girl ok, I got them. I hope they don't do too much from the last 2 cds, which were awful.
March 14th, 2005 09:41 AM
GimmeExile Congrats! What section did you get, FG?

Oh, I'm sure more than half of the set will be comprised of songs from their last two albums.
March 14th, 2005 09:49 AM
Factory Girl I'm in 405 for 10/19. I was 8th in line, & by the time it was my turn to buy tix it was "slim pickings."

Did both shows sell out?

Yes, both shows sold out quickly (I'm not sure how quickly but less than an hour, problably less than 30 minutes)...It was one of the most difficult onsales I've experienced.

I'd like to catch them earlier in the tour as well, hopefully Philly on May 14.

I did but not on my own. As I wrote above, I tried hard in vain to get GA and ended up empty-handed. Thankfully, a good buddy of mine grabbed me a GA for Oct 19 show.

This will be the longest time I've had a ticket in hand before the show: 7 months!
March 14th, 2005 11:12 AM
Factory Girl Maybe we can hook up for a beer before the show???
March 14th, 2005 11:15 AM
GimmeExile Definitely! Although we'll probably meet at a Stones concert before the U2 show...7 months is a long time away.
March 14th, 2005 11:55 AM
J.J.Flash How expensive are the tickets folks? Just curious.

Thank you very much my Queen.

I bloody hope the Stones' price range could be the very same at most for the upcoming Tour.

Katie - I met your pal Pete Doherty last night! tried to get a pic for you but he was too shy. see my post in the "Ronnie's set list" thread.

I sent Alex a text message today telling him about it. For some reason, he seemed pissed off! LOL
March 15th, 2005 07:33 AM
Factory Girl Thanks Gazza!!! That was so sweet of you!! But, I like Pete D. for his musical prowess-next time tell him that story!!

Jair I don't like Bono's voice, he sounds like my daddy
March 15th, 2005 01:09 PM
69 Chevy I passed on the Houston show. Decent seats were $160.00. The only seats under 100 bucks were nosebleed. Bono could pay off Third World debt by giving up his share of the gate. Show was a quick sell out in Houston, so someone is buying.

" Bruce Springsteen inducted U2 into the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame last night - then joined them on stage.

Paying a generous and humorous tribute to the band in his induction speech, Springsteen described U2 as "keepers of some of the most beautiful sonic architecture in the rock-and-roll world".

He recalled being at an early U2 show in London along with Pete Townshend
of The Who and remembered "the young Bono, single-handedly pioneering the Irish mullet. U2 hungered for it all and built a sound, and they wrote the songs that demanded it."

glencar I forgot about these shows & didn't even try to get tix. I'll try to get two on ebay before the Oct. shows unless it conflicts withStones shows.

I like U2. I caught the October Tour at the Fast Lane(a bowling alley) in Asbury Park. I sat on the stage and have the set list. I also caught the Zoo TV tour from the third row in Houston. I would go see them again if ticket prices were reasonable. If someone wants to pay $160.00 per ticket for U2 all the power to them. Apparently a lot of people do. I have got my memories and $320.00 in my pocket.

time is on my side Got my U2 ticket last weekend (excellent seat at a rip off price- got thru on the phone to ticketmaster in less than 5 minutes)

I've seen every U2 tour starting with the Joshua Tree tour back in 1987 and have always thought they were an incredible live band (in my opinion, they're better live than on record)
