We shall have to see how his speech this morning goes, shan't we? It should be very interesting.

Only the most deluded of liberals could find a way to blame this on the Republicans.

The "guilt by association" label is particularly ironic because here it is not so much that anyone thinks that Obama thinks the same way as Wright (which he may or may not).

They key is, Obama has ridden this wave of popularity based upon the notion that he can bring both sides together and that he is qualified to be President.

By associating with Wright, he proves that he has aligned himself for years with a truly detestable person, and does not have the presence of mind to recognize that fact until it smacks him in the face.

Obama was foolish and liberals that continue to apologize for him are intellectually dishonest.
[Edited by nankerphelge]

Ding, ding, ding!! Here, here! Why is it that some here are trying to argue this as a "guilt by association" tactic! It has nothing to do with that! It has everything to do with his judgement and his character.

If John McCain's associates were white supremacists would it be fair to say that John McCain were a white supremacist? No. But it would certainly be fair to question his judgement for associating with this kind of despicable group. I am flat out stunned that anyone here is even attempting to defend this shit!

This is only round one too. Wait until his association with William Ayers gets fully vetted by the media. Wait until the Tony Rezko scandal gets fully delved into. How did the Obama's purchase a huge house with no money right next door to Tony Rezko?

His judgement is fucked, and he's done.

Let me be very clear here. If Obama were my candidate of choice I would drop him like a rock after these recent facts came to light. If he were a Republican the party would already have moved in and told him to get lost. Trent Lott told a fucking joke and was forced to resign his leadership position. That Democrats seemingly always come to their defense of their very flawed candidates by trying to spin this into a "vast right-wing conspiracy" is absolutely absurd.

It's his goddamned judgement people!!!!! Get a fucking clue!!!!

He's toast!

Of course. They believe in all sorts of mystical crap.

In these sensitive times, however, I must once again remind you that the term "sock puppet" is offensive to many HosierAmericans and if it continues that guy up there is likely to start screaming "GOD DARN AMERICA!"

glencar To be honest, I sort of feel like Meg about this religion issue. I'm sure Barry O'bama hasn't heard most of what this asshole preaches & I'm sure that he would have objected to it if he had heard it. No, his church isn't what makes O'bama unacceptable for the Presidency of the US.

So lets blame it on that racist white Bitch ... the Clinton's planted the seeds for this ... by having Barry attend the "hate filled" gospel for 20 years ... Barry will be in full spin mode today ... but he can not say anything bad about his base ... or key mentor ... watch today the honkies have it all wrong this pastor is their friend too ... the young kids may buy his bullshit ... glencar He's doing a lackluster speech this morning. I'm worried that this will hurt his momentum. We really need him in the general election so he can lose BIGTIME & gain the GOP some House/Senate seats.

Riffhard He's done! He used the Black Separatist church when it was good for him to do so. He then dumped on the church when he had to appeal to the "white" vote! So much for "transcending racial politics"!!! LOL! Does anyone buy into this bullshit?! Put your partisanship aside for a minute. Do you honestly believe this man?

Judgement! He has none! He has the judgement of a scheming politician, and that some would pretend that he offers anything else? You're delusional!

He's toast! The speech bordered on a Socialist pipe dream, and a slam against anyone that pointed out his very real faults. Only the staunchest blind liberals will see it as anything else.

You guys have been used like a cheap whore.

LOL!!!!! This is why the Democrats call Clarence Thomas an Uncle Tom? Is this why Democrats call Condeleeza Rice an Aunt Tomasina? Colin Powell,Thomas Sowell,Bill Cosby. All of these black people have been slamed for uttering conservative values. No pdog. You need to do your homework here. It's not the Republican Party that is imploding due to race issues. Rather it's the Democrats. Democrats play the race card at every turn. They always have. Hell just last week Geraldine Ferraro was forced to resign form Hillary's campaign because Obama's camp claimed racism where none was there.

The most racially diverse cabinet in the history of this country has been George W. Bush's! Last I checked Bush was a Republican.

Dude I was joking... Everyone posting in this thread IMO, is in denial about race and racism, and need to embrace the fact that prejudice is normal.
Even you, you don't like Democrats, you didn't like Obama. All the stuff you've sprewed over the years shows a very clear pattern of Prejudice towards Democrats, liberal ect... So now, you expect everyone to be pissed, yet you didn't like Obama or Democrats before.
I still don't like black people who act like the preacher. Does that make me less a man, a bad parent, a bad PTA memeber, less of a father?
I think the only advantage I give myself is, that I'm okay admitting I have prejudices, and take the risk of wearing it on my sleeve. My job puts me in a position of dealing with the public at large. Black people don't tip. Am I racist for pointing that out? Mayor Willie Brown is well know in this city for not tipping. He is the stereo-typical no tipping black person. He goes to the nicest restaurants in the city, and at best will tip 9%. Knowing full well, that the wait staff is taxed, regardless an income tax based on a % of the bill. Put me in a white church, let me spew off my feeling on a Sunday about this...
I can't even tell you, how many times I've been called " white motherfucker" by black people in all kinds of situations. You don't think it bothers me, that if I was to do the same thing, I'd be labelled a racist ect..?

pdog to me the difference is pretty clear. I don't have anything per se against Democrats other than their beliefs about government being able to cure societies' ills. I strongly denounce that. Because I know that it is individuals that make this country strong. The power of the individual is way stronger than the power of the government just as the Founding FATHERS believed.

I was a registered Democrat for over twenty years. I argued vehemently against conservatives and Republicans. That is until I actually took the time to read what true conservatives believed. They believe that they are responsible for their own destiny. That the government should not regulate or control the free market. They believe in the power of the individual to know what is best for himself/herself. The government that can give you national health care can also take it away. I don't just disagree with liberals about this. I KNOW FOR AN ABSOLUTE FACT THAT THEY ARE WRONG.

What Obama has done should come as no shock to anyone. He played the race card when it was to his advantage to do so. His problem is that he based his entire platform on "transcending the racial divide". You can't have it both way Barack! He got caught, and now people are trying to defend him. The funny thing is that these same people that are rushing to his defense would insist that he quit if he were white and Republican. Some here can pretend that that's not true, but don't for an instant expect me to believe otherwise. I'm not stupid.

Again I point out. Trent Lott told one joke and was forced to resign. Barack Obama attended a church that preached black separatism, anti-semitism, and hate for the USA for twenty years and now the same people that screamed for Lott's head on a platter are defending him for his particular brand of racism. Double standard? You bet your ass!

While this may seem funny to you. It is quite logical really. If my candidate were doing what Obama has done I would abandon him immediately. Partisanship be damned. I would dump him in an instant. Judgement and character are of paramount importance for me. If I were to begin to question my candidate's judgement or character my support would be gone immediately. That's because I would put my partisanship aside. Get it?

I voted for Bill Clinton. His judgement and character were obviously flawed, and I became a registered Republican because of it. I abandoned any and all partisanship because of my beliefs. Too bad more people couldn't be intellectually honest enough to do the same. Am I better or wiser than they are? Yes I am.

Everyone in politics plays race. You don't think that add against Dukakis in 88 was a race card or when Bill Clinton pretends like he's black or even having someone point out, that Bush has the most racially diverse cabinet. My point is, is that it's normal to see the race, and it's normal to both like and dislike people of a race, based on race.
My contradicting feelings on this matter are what is shaping my views on this matter.
I'm not as abosolut on my views as you are. part of me is envious you are so sure of yourself, and part of me thinks anyone who is so confident, is going to be dissapointed, no matter what.
