Gazza Just saw him on Sky News a couple of hours ago - in the crowd at the West Indies v England 2nd test match in Port of Spain.

Seems he's having a little break before knuckling down to some studio time.

montana yes here's a pic from yahoo

03-19-04 05:01 PM
Gazza thanks for posting

Thats David Gower (former England captain and now TV presenter) he's with so obviously Mick must have been interviewed for TV before the match started as well.

fmk438j I love seeing/hearing Mick with Cricket types because it's such a juxtaposition (woe, slowdown) from the rocker Mick to the well groomed respectable club member.

I remember a few years ago listening to the ashes on the radio in bed at ~11pm and with no warning Mick comes into the booth and is interviewed for about 10 minutes discussing everything from cricket to his 'favourite (stones) tour'. It blew me away.

For the record his answer was that although it's hard to say a favourite, a very important one was '69 because they brought all they're lights and gear and this had not really been done in the past.

Gazza yes but whats your favourite Ashes tour...LOL

Mine was 1974/75. Thommo and Lillee at their wildest

With all that money, why doesn't Mick get a face lift? WE expect Keiff to look like hell, but Mick is a pretty boy - he needs to put a couple o' G's into the face maintenance.

parmeda Leroy (Hi!, and welcome)...are you serious?

Every crack & crease has a story on those faces!
They both could have spun some magic a thousand times over by now...but, why bother? That's who they are...and God Bless them for it!

stewed & Keefed Harmison knocks Windies out

Second Test, Trinidad, day one (stumps):
West Indies 189-8 v England
Full scorecard

Steve Harmison claimed another five-wicket haul as West Indies crashed to 189-8 on day one of the second Test.

The hosts had begun well after winning the toss, Chris Gayle hitting 62 in an opening stand of 100 with Devon Smith.

But Harmison hit back with three wickets just before lunch and two more in a single over late in the day.

Simon Jones and Matthew Hoggard gained a wicket each, leaving ninth wicket pair Ridley Jacobs (29) and Pedro Collins (six) not out overnight.

Three hours were lost to rain on the opening day but that was no excuse for the home side on a good pitch.

The hero of Sabina Park last Sunday when he claimed 7-12 in England's first Test victory, Harmison conceded three fours in a single over early on.

Gayle also struck six off Ashley Giles to bring up his first Test half-century against England from just 58 balls.

But Harmison switched ends with immediate success, the left-hander gaining an unnecessary edge to wicket-keeper Chris Read.

Next over, Smith was struck in line with middle stump stepping across his crease.

And home town hero Lara, who dislocated his finger in the last match, was unable to deal with Harmison's steepling bounce, fencing his fourth ball to a diving Giles.

Gayle began the match by bashing 62 from 81 balls
West Indies looked to regroup in a lunch break extended by rain to 85 minutes.

But in the half-hour possible in the afternoon, Jones got in on the act when Shivnarine Chanderpaul wafted outside off stump to gain an edge behind.

After a further break of an hour and a half, Harmison reawakened the Queen's Park Oval crowd with another burst.

Dwayne Smith, who missed the first Test with a dislocated finger and was recalled with Ryan Hinds suffering from a stomach bug, pulled a towering six off the Durham man.

But he perished trying to repeat the shot, instead top-edging to Nasser Hussain at midwicket.

Vice-captain Ramnaresh Sarwan could manage only a distinctly suspect 21 from 30 deliveries before another push outside off stump found and edge to second slip.

England skipper Michael Vaughan placed as many as seven men in the slip cordon to the tailenders.

But only wicket-keeper Read was needed to collect Tino Best's edge for Matthew Hoggard's first wicket.

Vaughan was responsible for a run out, throwing from the deep point boundary to dismiss Adam Sanford for one.

But an awkward ninth-wicket partnership developed between Jacobs and Collins to keep the home side going until they were offered bad light.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

West Indies: B Lara (capt), C Gayle, Devon Smith, R Sarwan, S Chanderpaul, R Jacobs, Dwayne Smith, T Best, C Collymore, P Collins, A Sanford.

England: M Vaughan (capt), M Trescothick, M Butcher, N Hussain, G Thorpe, A Flintoff, C Read (wkt), A Giles, S Jones, M Hoggard, S Harmison.

UGot2Rollme Thank God that neither Mick nor Keith have face lifts! It would be so uncool of them to do that. Also, there have been some scary results - have you seen a picture of the French rocker Johnny Hallyday recently? He looks Japanese, and I don't think he's capable of smiling anymore!

Monkey Woman UGot2Rollme, you're right! The sorry excuse for a rock'n'roll singer that is Johnny Halliday is a depressing sight. Gimme Mick's deeply lined but well-lived-in face any time!

Monkey Woman A new bar opens in Trinidad, and Jagger rolls in!

From Shidoobee:

"Jagger's in Town

Marisa Camejo

Sunday, March 21st 2004

After watching England's success against the West Indies cricket team on Friday, British rocker Mick Jagger and a small entourage celebrated at a new, upscale night-spot in Port of Spain.

"He had fun dancing, and he willingly signed autographs, and posed for photos with patrons. He wasn't snobby at all. And, although we offered to pass him through the back entrance of the club, he was cool with coming in the front door," noted Elias Moses, shareholder and part owner of 51º, during an interview with the Sunday Express yesterday.

According to Moses, Jagger's manager called the club to alert management that the Rolling Stone front-man wanted to visit. He arrived soon thereafter with four friends in two Mercedes Benz vehicles.

Jagger, who leaves Trinidad later today, reportedly divided his time Friday night between a roped-off VIP room inside 51º and the club's dance floor, mingling freely with the more than 400 patrons. Two waiters served the 61-year-old Jagger and his friends wine, champagne, scotch, and Carib beer from 10.30 p.m. until they left the club at 2 a.m.

For more than 30 years, the Rolling Stones-formed in 1962 by Jagger and childhood friend Keith Richards-have sold millions of albums and is arguably the most popular rock-and-roll band in the world.

51º, located at 51 Cipriani Boulevard, Port of Spain, opened its doors to the public just last week and plans to offer live music, comedic entertainment, drinks and hors d'oeuvres."

Hannalee I managed to catch him on the box this evening - he seemed to be enjoying the attentions of the crowd, even if he wasn't prepared to go down and party with the Barmy Army. And who shall blame him .
