travelinman Norway Documentary is an interview and coumentary compilation which has performance footage interlaced. I think it is from Norwegian tv and cover the early 60's through the 90's. The interviews are in English with Norwegian? subtitles. There is occasional voice over in Norwegian? It runs about 34 minutes. I transfered it to dvd from a vhs copy. And it looks like there was more to the original broadcast but this is all I have.

You can tell from the ? that I do not speak Norwegian. If someone has a complete copy please put it up.

Be patient. I have a slow connection.

I cannot be sure since the ending is cut - no credits. It opens with short black and white newsreel style clips from Fornbeau then there are interviews of MJ and KR in color that seem to be from B@B tour. Back and forth between interviews and performance cuts that seem to be from Sweden and Norway. Last song before it ends is Flip the Switch. The newsreel part has a band called the Pussycats on it - maybe that helps?

The black and white part is fun and I don't have it anyplace else so I think others might enjoy this download.

Thanks,

For sure then it starts when Stones arrival Oslo airport Fornebu June 23th 1965 and then short cuts from the first concert (18:30) on the day after.
Pussycats - a Norwegian band - did get some headlines as their manager had bussed in some 50 - 60 girls from Malmoe (Sweden), bought up the 2 first rows and they all left their seats just before Stones went on stage. If they didn't they had to find their way home by them self (6 to 8 hour drive) ;-)

All the Best!

Here's the seventh one in a series of reauthored DVDs on our Mission From God:

It's a huge upgrade to the DVD I've uploaded on Dime some months ago
http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=119939
as it uses a matrix of the great audience recordings mentioned below as audio track! The video is the same
except for a still shot of the artwork at the beginning of "Sympathy For The Devil" when the original video
stopped for a couple of seconds.
I've added sound samples under comments and you will hear what an improvement it is in comparison to the quite
thin sound of the original DVD!

Many many thanks to the tapers - you both did a fantastic job as always!!!

the recording:
Directly from the master recording. No mods to the master files. Recorded from Section 130, directly above the entrance to the arena. More on that later. The location above the arena entrance is notable for the fact that it provides a very clear shot at the stacks. There are no people in front of the mics as a result of being on an overhang, of sorts. The floor was ~12 feet below the level of the mics. The desk in the first row was an added convenience.

the show:
Many will recall that on the 40Lix tour, the band was mixing it up a bit each night with a focus (mild) on a specific album. This night was an "Exile on Main St" night, as opposed to the 2 HBO brdcst-related shows the following January, which were "Let It Bleed" shows. This was my favorite Stones tour since I've been attending shows for a multitude of reasons, not the least of which was for their willingness to vary the setlists from night to night. The inclusion of "Can't You Hear Me Knockin'" as a tour staple didn't hurt either!

It was a cold and rainy commute to NYC so I stoked myself with a large cup of coffee which would subsequently serve to name this torrent. By the time we arrived at the Garden I had to get rid of that cup of coffee and felt fortunate to find an unoccupied spot on 9th Ave right across from the main branch of the NYC Post Office. Walked to the corner diner to unload the coffee and upon re-emerging in the rain noted that the car was....

...GONE!

Thankful that I had at least carried the gear with me I told my buddy that we'd have to check at the mobile police unit near the arena to see if it was towed. Apparently we had arrived 15 minutes BEFORE the END of the no parking commuting hours and w/n no more than 8 minutes the car had been yanked. Comforted - knowing, at least, the car wasn't stolen we proceeded to our seats and tried to dry off. We were in Section 232 and I noticed a couple my age sitting in the seats directly above the entrance to the the Garden arena, I went over, introduced myself and chatted them up a bit. They were from Staten Island and were clearly having a good time.

Confirmation that they would be interested in a copy of the show, was followed by a quick explanation of how their location afforded a great tape and they aggreed to let me place the DAT and mics on the desk in front of them for the show. I sat in the unoccupied seat next to them and started the tape. When the seat's true occupant arrived I returned to my original seat. I had planned on running two tapes, but instead chose to run with the 2 hr tape as a result of being separated from the deck. While missing the last few moments of a 2+ hour show is a dissappointment...none of the essence of this night is lost.

I really enjoy listening to this show. The band was tight the entire tour but MSG seems to have brought out the best in them. The show rocked. If you occassionally hear a guy having a great time it's the dude from Staten Island. It's barely noticeable.

As with most indoor shows at the rear of the arena it sounds a little boomy. I'd give this one a B+, certainly not just for the completist, but FoB/hot spot/on a stand would have been killer.

We left the Garden and trudged the last few blocks in a downpour to the 38th Steet impound lot to pick up the car and headed home.

2 Stones tix: $225...
...1 lg Dunkin Donuts coffee: $2...
...taking a piss: $250 in pkg ticket/towing chgs...
......'Exiled' on 9th Ave!......PRICELESS!

Hope you like it...

a short video
Here's comments from original uploader.
Thanks tp original uploader

Mick Jagger and David Bowie performing their single "Dancing in the street" at Prince's Trust '86 show. Jagger was unhappy with the rendition and it was cut on all broadcasts and releases. Maybe it's not the best performance, but it features - Eric Clapton, Elton John, Mark Knopfler, Paul McCartney, Phil Collins and others

I checked and I do not have flac files of that show,
but while you are looking for it, you can download
4 large MP3's, each of which is on side of the vinyl
double album of that show.

The link is at Culpa Direct, about halfway down the page, below Dylan. The title is "Light Up the Town".
