ktown Hey guys, I just stumbled on this site. I'm a huge Stones fan since I was a baby in the 70s and my dad would put me to sleep to their music.

Does anyone know where I can find a live show/torrent for the Voodoo Lounge show they did at Soldier Field , Sept 11, 1994? That was my first show, I'd love to find it somewhere but my searching has brought no luck thus far.

Erik_Snow I had a torrent going at dime, but it was banned.
It turned out to be lossy, even though I got the real "pressed" CD, and it's considered a classic title...never seen it mentioned that it was lossy.
I guess I have to check each and every CD before putting it on dime.
So...I wondered if somebody could please help me find a programme to check this ? Hopefully a programme that is easy to use.
Thanks, if so.

Use EAC (Exact Audio Copy)
http://download.digital-world.de/public/EAC/eac-0.95b4-cdrdao.zip

Could you please do a 'spectral view' and 'frequency analysis' to a wav file and post it here?

EAC > Tools > Process Wav > search the wav file > Display > Spectral View and then Frequency Analysis

Good luck

Thanks Gonzalo, I'll try later today, after work. It was a DYlan show that got banned, they must have used a minidisc-recorder or something for that bootleg, can't believe it was MP3. I actually have EAC allready, I just didn't know it could be used for that analysis-thing.
Cheers!

Sure, it could be a MD recording.

Mini-Disc (MD) recordings also use a compression approach roughly similar to mp3 but with more compression.

An MD recording usually affects the frequencies from around 13-14khz and up.

Erik_Snow Gonzalo,
yes I've done the frequency analysis,
yet I don't know how to get the picture up on the net.
Maybe there is a way to "copy the screen-picture"?
If not, how can I read the image I get ? WHat makes it lossy and what makes it OK ?
Thanks for your help, Gonzalo.

"copy the screen-picture": I guess you don't have this kind of software, so, whith the EAC analysis window open, press 'PrtScn' on your keyboard, then open M$ Paint > Edition > Paste. Then save the image as jpg.

Upload them to http://photobucket.com/ , then copy the links.

Good luck

If I should use a different way of viewing these analysis...please let me know. I can't see any differences between the "lossy" audio and the 2 others on this one...they all seem very similiar.

Well, there's a drop at 16 kHz on the Dylan's bootleg. Not a really big drop, but it's a drop that means something...

Could you please do a "Spectral View" and post it here?

Good Luck

Yep, the Dylan bootleg that was banned from Dime is definitely lossy, no doubt about it. I'm sorry.

By the way, the Dylan 81 and Earls Court 76 are definitely lossless.

All the best,
Gonzalo

P.S: So you are EricBT from Dime hah !

Erik_Snow Gonzalo, thanks a lot!
For the future..how can I see for myself if a recording is lossy or not?
My guess is that if the colours is mostly "red" when I analyze it...it's lossy. Would that be correct?
Because, apart from that, picture #1 and picture #2 are somewhat similiar.

Nice to get this thing settled!
RCA Studios 1978 coming soon ;v)

Erik_Snow THank you, Gonzalo,
really great that you took the time for this!
By reading the the links there,
I see that it can be very difficult to know what origin the soundfile has. For instance a TV broadcast looks very similiar to an MP3.
I'll try my best though,
Greetings!

Could you please provide the f****** contrast clause to these clowns please?

The Contrast Clause
http://wiki.dimeadozen.org/index.php/DimeFAQ:Frequently_Asked_Questions#The_Contrast_Clause

All the best,
Gonzalo

TORRENT BANNED FROM DIME!

This is already on the tracker at http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=135873. If this source actually is something different, the uploader has a responsibility to put a proper contrast clause near the top of the description as described in the FAQ. A vague reference to two different sources that is not specifically spelled out and has no mention of the existing torrent is not a substitute -- and for all we know, this "new" source was used in the existing torrent as well.

[Edited by gonzalo76]
25th February 2007 06:33 PM
Erik_Snow Gonzalo,
I wrote the moderators an e-mail,
but I'll write one more, where I mention the contrast clause.
I only explained it in "normal language" in my mail.
I can't believe this nonsense, it was labeled *new version* while the old torrent was called *old version*.
If they dime don't put it back on the tracker, I don't bother to put up anything again, apart from one show I have promised to do.
I'll put The Harder They Come on Rocks Off of course,
let's see what happens,
Greetings,
Erik.
