On a radio show I just listened to about rock royalties an Irish guy called in and claimed in Ireland "artists" don't have to pay any tax
He claimed "artists" income is tax free
Well?
Is this why Woody lives there?
I need to know
Report on me desk by morning please

The Republic of Ireland does have a lot of tax allowances for "artists" - I'm not sure if it's "tax free" (maybe someone who lives there could tell you for sure) but the tax laws are certainly beneficial and has resulted in many musicians, actors and other "artists" making their homes there in the last couple of decades.
And yes, that would almost certainly be the main reason why Woody moved there during the '80's and why it's his main residence (he still has a home in Surrey, as well) |

I have a friend who works with DELL in Dublin and he just confirmed the above...it's a big tax savings for artists if they pay any at all, depends on a few factors... |
