Make It Funky Wow!!!!!! Hey Exile, good work mate. Right on. I love you rock and roll junkies. Fantastic.

And I have to say, it's about bloody time that the Crowes finally covered that Crosby,Stills & Nash tune. I think the setlist is a very healthy collection of tunes. However, I won't be surprised in the least if every night is completely different, and that they end up doing EVERY song in their back-catalogue through-out the five-night stand at the Hammerstein. *watch this space*

Cheers dude.

Make It Funky Thank you to the cross-over Crowes fans... well done people!!!

I do hope that they keep "Roadside" as a permanent fixture in their setlist..

And if you listen to the CS&N tune, "Pre-Roads Down" you can totally understand why they'd do it..

How did "Tell the Truth" sound??? The slow funky version? or that Fast uptempo cokey one off the Boxed Set???

Cheers.

Mel Belli Is "Coming Home" the Delaney & Bonnie song? Great choice, if so. I remember hearing the Crowes play that record backstage on the "Who Killed that Bird.." movie.
March 21st, 2005 09:54 AM
Saint Sway yes Mel, "Coming Home" is the Delaney & Bonnie tune. Perfect song for Chris to sing with the backup soul sisters behind him. Same with Cocker's "Space Captain" - its just the perfect song for them to cover. So Crowesy sounding. Plenty of other great cover choices like Yer Blues, Pre Road Downs, Tell The Truth, Dont Do It, Dylan's It Takes A Lot To Laugh, and a few Marley covers - Bend Down Low, Pimpers Paradise & Time Will Tell.

I was at the opening night in Pittston PA and at the St Pattys party at Toads Place and for a die-hard Crowes freak like myself, the shows were utterly surreal. Unbelievable to see Marc Ford & Rich Robinson playing together. They are the best guitar combo since Keith and Mick T.

I know that these were just warm up gigs, but the band is soaring. There were so many magical moments on jams between Rich and Marc. Ford can wail like no one else.

the band has returned to the vibe that made them so cool ten years ago. They are back where they belong. On stage, together. And getting off on the music. Its a return to Amorica. They are back home where they belong.

by all means, see this band live.
