They have already played a undersold Moscow(only 48k)...I remeber they had a hard rock concert in the early 90's in Moscow with Motley Crew, AC/DC and even Bon Jovi, that drew 400k....and the Stones could onlyt get 48k!!! Really bad imo!!!

No surprise considering most locals couldnt afford their ticket prices which cost about 2 weeks salary.

Then why go back to Russia? I don't think St. Petersburg will fair much better.
19th March 2007 12:30 PM
PartyDoll MEG Not to this festival..Although I do not have the aversion to camping that our Reverend Gazza seems to have. Why would I travel over the pond to camp?

The verdict is still to be determined for a later date..

How do you get their from London? Any direct flights? Also, any luxury hotels ?

Dont think you could fly from London - its not far enough to make it worthwhile, although YOU could hire a helicopter.

About 90 mins on the train to Portsmouth or Southampton and then get the short ferry ride.

Looks a pleasant enough place, but its just not that easy to get to.

St Petersburg is a new market. Its nowhere near Moscow. Plus, in the space of 9 years, the economy has changed somewhat for the better. Plus, its a smaller stadium and as its closer to some western countries, you might also get some fans from there going (eg Finland)

You probably should go because it will be a very historical event with the Stones headlining...and it seems relatively close to you...Moreover, I imagine you can get ticketsfairly easily,,,

glencar I don't think there are any direct flights from JFK to St. pete but I shall investigate tonight.
19th March 2007 12:54 PM

I could probably get to New York quicker.

glencar LOL Cheaper too!

Jumping Jack I think St. Pete would be very interesting. Besides, it is more capitalistic than France these days and Keef would not have to worry about finding enough vodka.

There aren't. None from the US in fact, according to this list.

Have to say, it's a beautiful looking city. It'd be great to see a show there. Pity its so far.
