Saint Sway I have seen both bands live and there is little difference in presentation or the type of material played. I was reminded again at the gig last week of the similarities between the two. Both bands are best known for entertaining children with their song and dance puppet shows. They are more known for their costumes than any original material. Even though they seem like almost the same band to me, I am sure everyone has their preferences. Who do you like the best?

Dan I never got totally splattered then hit in the face with a drum stick at a Muppets show. Then have the satisfaction of the looks on the faces of other people as I take the bus all the way home. But at the moment I can't name a single song by either of them.

A couple of friends were at the mall about ten years when Bananas In Pajamas played. They hopped in line to get their picture taken. The guy taking the picture tried in vain to skip around them. He might have also recorded it. If so I should get it and put it on Dime and see what happens.
16th March 2007 04:47 PM
Saint Sway The Muppets have sold more records and have a more devoted following.

Muppets are rock stars. Gwar are wannabees.

I don't know about The Muppets, but Gwar never meant themselves to be taken seriously. I remember at a show at City Gardens when a hundred pissed off skinheads showed up b/c Gwar was doing jokes about them in the show, it was great....
The people behind the costumes are just abuch a geeky art students...

Damn, that's a lot more than me. I have seen them twice. First time was in 1994 with The Dickies and The Ex Cops opening. The Ex Cops was just Gwar dressed like cops doing songs glorifying police brutality.
