• The Stones rolled into town yesterday for their fifth Japan tour. Coming straight from a show in New York, they've brought their A Bigger Bang tour for five dates - March 22 & 24 at Tokyo Dome, 29 at Sapporo Dome, April 2 at Saitama Super Arena and finishing up on April 5 down the road from Japan Zone's new home at Nagoya Dome. Mick Jagger (62) said this visit, their fifth, may be their last to Japan. 200 fans turned out to welcome the band at Narita Airport, though they were outnumbered by over-enthusiastic reporters who had to be told to "take it easy" by Keith Richards (62). Also among the crowd was comedienne Takeuchi Miyako (42) of the duo Pink Denwa, a die-hard Stones fan.

Gazza Only surprise is that Mick actually said that (IF he said it)

I've believed for some time this will be their last large scale worldwide tour (ie, a tour behind a new album lasting a year or so) although I dont think they'll cease live appearances
20th March 2006 06:44 AM
Break The Spell It may be their last large tour to reach certain regions, but at least they haven't came out and said they will cease touring all together. When they come back to the US though, it will probably just be the larger markets.

jb As I previously posted, the Jaqpan sales have been horrific...Mick, obviously aware of this, may have said this to drive up sales. Moreover, as I posted last year, this , indeed, is the last major world tour, with only limited engagements(contigent on Mick's voice, Charlie's health etc) in the future.

Japan has alwasy favored Aerosmith and Kiss to the Stones (sans 89 Tour). They never should have opened new leg of tour there..........must have gotten great guarantees.....

we seen this coming a long time ago and mentioned it and were attacked for it....once again we are correct!

glencar Japan's economy has been bouncing back of late but not enough to boost sales. Perhaps Mick's latest gambit will help!

Joey

I wonder why The band decided NOT to perform in Thailand or Vietnam ( see : Iraq ) this tour ?!?!

Why ?!?!

WHY .... ?!?!

20th March 2006 12:40 PM
jb A very ill -advised move as far a chosing this as the 2nd leg opener..ad I said, guarantees must have been huge, but the venues will be "wide-open", absent "paper" faux sell-outs(which are hard to due in stadiums)see Rogers Stadium humiliation(Toronto),
20th March 2006 01:19 PM
pdog If The Stones didn't have The North America markets and Europe, no more touring. A return to the US in the fall will only be to make up for the poor sales.
Be prepared for $500.00 plus tickets prices America.

Done ! ( with Bonus ) :

************* JOEY NOW GIVES EULOGY *******************

My Joshy need not be idolized ;
Or enlarged at ' Shidobee ' beyond what he was at ' Rocks Off ' .
He IS to be remembered as a kind and decent man ;
A man who saw wrong and tried to right it ...
Saw suffering and tried to heal it ...
Saw War and tried to STOP it .

And those of us who loved him ** Young Joey's voice now cracking with visceral and heartfelt emotion *** ;
And who take him to his ' transition ' here today .
Know that what he was and what he stood for ;
Will someday come to pass for all the world .
As he said many times in many posts throughout the decades ;
" Some Men see message boards the way they are and say , ' Why ?!?! ' ..... ' WHY ?!?! ' .........
I dream of message boards that never were and say , ' WTF ?!?! ' !!!!!!!! "

I Thank You For Your time Today !

Scazz!

...cue chorus :

Has anybody here seen my old friend Joshy?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed a lot of people,
But it seems the good they die young.
You know, I just looked around and he's gone.

Anybody here seen my old friend John?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed a lot of people,
But it seems the good they die young.
I just looked around and he's gone.

Anybody here seen my old friend Martin?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed a lot of people,
But it seems the good they die young.
I just looked 'round and he's gone.

Didn't you love the things that they stood for?
Didn't they try to find some good for you and me?
And we'll be free
Some day soon, and it's a-gonna be one day ...

Anybody here seen my old friend Bobby?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
I thought I saw him walk up over the hill,
With Joshy, Martin and John.

Baby Joe
