LadyJane I'm trying so hard not to be sad. I have to bear in mind howe BLESSED I am. Howe blessed we ALL are.

I saw 4 great shows by The Rolling Stones. From the minute they took the stage at Fenway Park on opening night I KNEW this was a different band.

Guitars were up....Backup singers and Chuck were turned down. Sound was great. LOUD. Keith and Ronnie seemed rejuvenated. I remember thinking "They read the Boards."

Charlie is..well...the engine that keeps this machine going. Battled Cancer and came back playing with a vengeance.

And then there is Mick Jagger. The man is simply amazing. His charisma and showmanship are mesmerizing and almost defy belief.

The Rolling Stones prove again and again that the Band that has been my personal favorite for the past 33 years is just as viable 40 plus years after their first shows. Who else can stake that claim???

I thank them from the bottom of my heart.

And then there are all my wonderful pals. Names on Message Boards that are now true blue friends.

Be it Boca Raton, NYC, Chicago, DC, Kansas City, Boston, Columbus, San Francisco, Norman Ok or the Jersey Shore. If I'm there and in trouble HELP is a phone call away. More importantly DRINKS, LAUGHTER and HUGS are only a phone call away.

YOU....my friends....have made this so special. I've had a blast for the past 10 months...from Luxy's calls from the Julliard Press conference to the anticipation of Sweet Virginia's calls tonight....RO, The Couch and Shidoobee have made this journey extra special.

I've been reflecting on all of this fun. Impossible to list all of my memories but here are a few:

--Cruising Newbury Street and Ronnie's Art Show in Boston with scope and Nellcote.
--Hanging out at the Four Seasons in Boston with Nellcote, scope, jb, voodoopug, winter, Luxury, Throbby and Nanky.
--Chiba chariot ride around Fenway while the Black Eyed Peas were performing. (Can anyone GUESS who was part of that adventure??)
--Parmeda's barbeque...and the great company of Starbuck, Feej, SheRat, Boomy, Nanky, TomL, and glencar.
--Touring Chess Studio.
--Kingston Fucking Mines...what a night of Chicago Blues!!!
--Drinking with the great Maxlugar in his own home....with scope, glencar, Feej, Gazza and Jaxx.
--Walking into Madison Square Garden for the first time with Riffy, Maxlugar and scope as my escorts.
--The preparties at Stout. My heart was broken from personal loss but the hugs of my dear friends sustained me. Egon, SS, MEG, Martha et al. checking on me constantly.
--Walking arm in arm to MSG with Martha and SheRat.
--Hearing "As Tears Go Bye" and crying on Pdog's shoulder.
--A wonderful limo ride and dinner in Little Italy.

There are many more...

So as I reflect on all of these good times with all of these great people howe can I feel anything but grateful?

These are my memories. I'd like to hear some of yours.

Thanks....it's been a blast.

LJ.

ebmp Seeing my first Rolling Stones show, (and probably the only one) on such a special night for the band (Copacabana)was such a thrill for me. I can´t help but imagine how blessed I was to witness those 4 old guys rock an entire country.

Thanks god for The Rolling Stones!

Yuo have no idea how much more powerful you made that song for me... Actually the entire show, not just that part... BUT!!! It really stands out. Good thing they didn't do alot of ballads, we would've both been crying... Unless it was Streets Of Love, then we would've been howling and growling!!!

batcave Looking at the text message on my cell phone telling me that I had won the upgrade to onstage seating at Fenway 2.
14th March 2006 09:56 PM
keithriffhard when Keith came out of nowhere and caught us all by surprise with the Start me up riff, and Mick came prancing out clapping, getting us all moving. KICK ASS!

Then, on the B-stage, when Ron pointed at me with a smug smile and threw me a pick! And a wave from Chuck Leavell, that bad ass!

Also, when the Stones jammed endlessly on Jumping Jack Flash, kicking out the jams for atleast 7 minutes! Powerful stuff, I coulda cried!

PeerQueer Vegas show - flew a close friend in from Florida - her first Stones show ever. (She's only 25)Great seats - could clearly make out the lines in Keith's well-worn and beautiful face.

We had a blast, she got turned on to my favorite band - and really got turned on by Mick. "He so old - and he's soooooooo fuckin' hot!" (I very much agree with her)

We partied very hard for a few days and had a fantastic time of it.

I've seen three shows so far - this was by far my favorite. Vegas is a far tamer place than it was just 10 years ago, but it still has enough of a dark, seedy and dangerous side that I continue to adore it.

Now I am ready for Europe!!!!

parmeda Better late than never, LadyJ...and what timing!

No one...no one will EVER know the moment you and I had staring at those steps together. You were trembling! I will never forget that...

PartyDoll MEG Let's see...all five shows were great. Stones got better with each performance.

Two greatest memories:
1) Finally meeting the RO gang at Stout's(NYC) and beginning friendships that will last forever.

2) Sharing my love of this band with both of my sons(Detroit and Denver).

And it ain't over yet. More memories to follow......

gorda I prefer the 40 Licks tour! Gosh! I will never forget that day, way back in Febuary of 2003! When, I saw Mick Jagger perform on stage for the first time! He was so hot that day! And, I was only like 5 rows from the stage! (I didn't plan it! It just happened that way! I bought my tickets at the last minute! I just got lucky!)

It was a really cool day! I will remember that day as long as live! I spent the whole day with my brother and everything was just so perfect. From the parking situation to the bathroom lines (there wasn't any).

Everything was just so well organized and perfect! And, the crowd was so energetic! Everybody was singing, dancing, cheering and having a good time! I had a lot fun that day!

marko Meeting my friends in october, great to see luxy and Throbby.Abd ofcourse my c-10 brothers.
2007,we´ll make it again.

Break The Spell For me it was getting to see the live debut of Sway in Columbus, and overall I'm glad the guitars are forceful and back up front. While Licks may have had more interesting set lists, the guitars simply crushed this tour compared to licks. Also a highlight was going to the show with my mother and my young cousin, three generations of fans rocking out to a great set!! Here's hoping there's more nights like this to look foward to!!
15th March 2006 06:57 AM
Bruno Stone Copacabana was my first and only show ever.

The fucking great things:

- Seeing Keith half in the dark beside the drums looking at the screen waiting his time to go and make a tsunami with JJF riff.

-Mick swinging during MR very close to me. Forget it, the whole Midnight Rambler!

-Ronnie´s solo in YCAGWYW. Killer and loud.

-Mick looking at Keith during HTW intro with a "now?" face when he was still foolling around with the audience (that I saw perfectly)

-Get Of Off My Cloud

-Everybody screaming "pleased to meet you!"

There are a lot of other things...

nankerphelge What a great tour!

I didn't get to see as many shows as I had hoped because of a stupid trial, but the ones I did see were so special.

Boston -- HOT -- everywhere we went it was just freakin' hot. Meeting jb at the Four Seasons and wondering who the fuck he was!!! Seeing the stage for the first time and the opener yet again!! Chiba chariot!!!

Chicago - the boardroom! Doing the tequila dance on the table! Meeting a whole buncha new crazies -- poopy & Pammy (finally), Feej, SheRat & Pete, Starbuck, glencar -- the cab rides from hell!! Blues at Buddy Guys'. BLUES at the Kingston mines (twice). Chess, Pug, hangovers and an awesome show. Pam trying to turn tricks for a T-shirt for me!!! And my one and only public recognition from a "fan"

NYC -- the summit of the century!! It was really magic and if you were there, you know what I mean.

Baltimore -- a very intimate show for me. Quite the contrast to NYC and a nice way to end my tour.

Can't wait til the next time!

4) the groovy 1,000,000 fan daylong tripfest on a mostly sunny beach in Rio....the 'Midnight Rambler', February 2006
5) the Sunday, March 12th, 2006 greeting with JB and then the LSD hallucination or is it reality moment as security told us our row did not exist, would we please accept these third row next to the runway ticks instead? well....OK, I guess LOL!!!!! eye contact with Mick that night!! 'SWAY'!!!!!!

Steel Wheels I have two favorite memories of this tour.

#1. RUNNING to buy the new album and listening to it for the first time and realizing it's the new soundtrack to my life.

#2. Front row for the B-stage in Philly and weeping with joy at the feet of my Gods. Smiling at Charlie. Daper Charlie Watts!
