MICK JAGGER IN PARADISE

Mick Jagger - Visions Of Paradise

Poor Mick. He's been getting a bit of stick recently but his new single 'Visions Of Paradise' might convince a few people they've been a bit hasty to criticise.

His latest solo album 'Goddess In The Doorway' attracted negative press for its failure to set the charts on fire but the album's opening track (out on March 11) is certainly worth investigating. Despite some decidedly dodgy dancing, the intriguingly-shot video features Mick's vision of urban paradise. And next time you get in a lift he might just be behind you.

MICK JAGGER - 'VISIONS OF PARADISE' (VIRGIN)

Wrinkly rocker Mick Jagger has absolutely nothing to prove in the musical world he helped to shape some 35 years ago. So why, we hear you cry, does he persist, especially considering the backlash and ridicule he faced when latest album, 'Goddess In A Highway', sank without trace?

Maybe the chance to make that elusive solo album that's actually half decent is too tempting a carrot to resist? On reflection the widespread derision of the album was probably a dash premature. Sure, 'Vision Of Paradise' is a sleek, FM rock-lite attempt to be hip and trendy but if it hadn't been by the Rolling Stones man wouldn't it have garnered far more attention?

To quote Austin Powers "throw him a frekkin' bone here, man."

On June 16, 2001 the hit counter of the WET page was inserted here, it had 174,489 hits. Now the hit counter is for both the page and the board. The hit counter of the ITW board had 1,127,645 hits when it was closed and the Coolboard didn't have hit counter but was on line only two months and a half.
